Why would they use the same color for the background and EF-4 lol

Consider yourself lucky to be getting an EF-3. The rest of the country will experience an EF-4

Reminds me of the meme about hog population meme

"Each dot represents 5,000 hogs"

"Untapped infinite hog supply in the ocean"

"Each state is lined with an impenetrable wall of swine. We are trapped"

"We've lost Mexico and Canada to the hogs already"

Lol.

But really, batten down the hatches, everyone bunker down in Hicks.

Probably with fire, too.

I was once an overnight custodian there and we were considered essential personnel, which meant the only time we had off work (outside of normal weekends) was Thanksgiving or Christmas break. Everyday else—rain, shine, snow, or wind—we were expected to be there.

Yup, still is. Had to report on my day off for that bad snowstorm. Hadnt slept yet and needed to be in at 4 or so. Apartment complex hadnt even plowed yet, most of the roads were still messed up too

I’m supposed to leave for work right in the peak storm …

Luckily for us, we live in West Lafayette (I don't, I'm a Townie)

Anyway, as always, we pray to the Wabash River Basin. May she do her job and absorb all the storm potential so the only thing we get is some wind damage and MAYBE a few hours of power/internet loss.

reddit moderation is a joke.

Can you paraphrase what you said?

1

u/Superdeathrobot CompE 2025, MS 2026 Jun 17 '26

I'm tempted but I'm also thinking someone would report my paraphrase and get my account banned. It was just the average veo hate that occurs in this sub but for some reason reddit took offense to it. After manual review they still upheld the warning. I guess electric scooters have feelings now

My son and I will point out a flock of dead birds when we see a bunch of them laying on the sidewalk. (The dominant company here used to be Bird)

If this happened during the school year, we’d still have classes btw

I was in Oklahoma a couple years back when we had this prediction.

EF4 hit 18 miles north of me. Growing up in Indiana i thought I had seen some shit but this was insane

I like how cool it is now

reddit is going all in on the nothing burger again

4

u/phosforesent Jun 17 '26

Follow our own Local Fave Meteorologist Chad Evans on Facebook, he'll likely be livestreaming during the storm. And of course there's Ryan Hall Y'all on Youtube.

I really hope I see one (and live). It'd be the first one in my life. I've been fascinated by tornados since seeing a documentary about it when I was but a small child.

3

u/iconiciguana Jun 17 '26

And of course, this storm amounted to absolutely nothing

2

u/redditabulouss Jun 17 '26

i just heard thunder

3

u/Embarrassed-Bid-3577 Jun 17 '26

Come over to the UIUC. There're still some people living there.

1

u/Melgel4444 Jun 17 '26

I was in west lafayette when a tornado touched down in 2014 and honestly the damage wasn’t that bad

1

u/Ltroky Jun 18 '26

Only thing I miss from Indiana is the storm chasing.

1

u/MapOk8378 Jun 18 '26

Yeah I died

It ended up most of the nasties went south.  Missed Bloomington, mostly took down trees. Somehow no trailer parks were harmed, although that one lady who survived in her bath tub was in her now destroyed mobile home out between Gosport and Bloomington.

Someone took a flight over the tornado track. It was pretty easy to follow.  https://youtu.be/KxPlMtXzc64?is=xR4LtVMi9AjArzuK
