He hasn't been laughed at in decades. He's probably worked relentlessly to accrue as much petty power and totally real computer wealth to prevent ever being laughed at ever again. And after all, he's a member of congress, has been for fifteen years over which time his net worth has risen by over 400%.
But it still hits the nerve of the obnoxious fucking twerp whose peers in high school probably loathed him.

First amendment means the government can't come after you for what you say. You're guaranteed the right to criticise the government without ending up in a gulag. In theory.
In fact, as a government representative, he was theoretically breaking the first amendment by trying to shut the audience down. Whereas the audience is guaranteed the right to criticise, or laugh at blatant lies.

This is what puzzles me. I knew, 20 years ago that any attack on Iran would result in the immediate closure of the strait. If I knew, how did they not anticipate this? Trump has saved Iran the time and expense of a nuclear program by demonstrating what power they have over the world by daring to close the Strait. Good going.
5
u/Anonybibbs 8h ago
I mean make no mistake, Iran is now dead set on developing nuclear weapons, more than ever before. They now know that the threat and follow through of the closure of the straight isn't enough to keep their country from being bombed and their leaders from being assassinated, and the only actual proven deterrence is to become a nuclear power.

They arenât. But republicans only know how to be a minority power. They fundamentally donât know how to govern the country. They only know how to blame someone else for problems.
So when they are in power, they donât know what to do. So they do what they always do and blame the democrats. Even when democrats have no power federally. Their base typically buys it but itâs been failing a lot more lately because they are in full control and their base knows it so itâs hard to blame anyone else.
And as a result, they just get angry and just walk away

Diesel prices have gone up because the democrats environmental regulations...
Yeah bro... Look; I drive a diesel pickup truck. Ive had a diesel pickup truck in my driveway since 2009, save a couple years. I have also worked in the trucking industry, and spent time around all sorts of diesel equipment.
Yes. I HATE DEF / SCRs / DPFs / EGRs and all the emissions BS they put on diesel trucks now adays.
Why? Diesel was always preferred to me because of the longevity and economy. My 1 ton pre-def pickup with an economy tune would average 26mpg down the highway and were regularly known to push the 500k miles mark no problem. The equivalent gas motor was good for 15 mpgs and 150k mi if you were lucky. Now, with all these emissions shit on, my current, post-def, 3/4 ton will get 21 down the highway and ill be lucky to get 250k on the clock before the motors done.
On highway trucks (semis, not passenger), that run OTR the environmental shit works. The regulations have pushed smaller motors that are more efficient and pollute less. On everything else (dump trucks, garbage trucks, local delivery, etc), all those emissions stuff add to increased maintenance costs, decreased longevity, and increased fuel consumption.
That said, we are talking about small percentages, with regulations constantly pushing for improvements. Do I wish I, a guy with a pickup truck, who occasionally hauls a boat, an ATV, or an RV, could run without all that stuff and get 25+ mpg down the highway and double the life expectancy of my truck? yes. But does the 4mpg loss = diesel going from $2.87 / gal to $6.89/ gal in 8 months????? NO you fucking moron. You have to be pretty fucking daft to believe that.
Oh, and P.S. The first amendment doesnt mean you can just say made up shit then get mad when people call your BS.

Diesel emissions systems started in 2008. Our Diesel prices have been relatively consistent for the better part of 17 years. You would have to be pretty stupid or brainwashed to believe something that has had no major affect for 17 years, suddenly caused a 300% cost increase, that also just happened to coincide with the beginning of a war, which shut down the worlds largest crude oil passageway, but those two things are unrelated...
