Make them lose face is what make them angry. Sometimes honking is enough to trigger someone who then follow you home and shoot you dead or stab you. But a part that yeah I agree. If you never blame a Thai then you won't have any issue. But most of them wouldn't get angry when they lose face, but those who do always goes so far, it's like they can't stop their anger once it's out so they keep it in the most they can.

As a local, mob justice shouldn’t really be encouraged. Most of these street dudes don’t really speak much English, and they won’t really understand what the guy is trying to explain. A unverified rumor or two about a farang doing something bad could easily (and has happened before) start a mob ganging on an innocent foreigner.

But the sad reason that this behavior exists is because the police is useless when someone’s actually guilty. So there’s a sense of urgency to take matter into your own hands because police won’t do shit.

Bear in mind that there are plenty of cases of tourists saying this happened to them for something as simple as refusing to go to a scam bar or refusing to give a group of young guys money, booze, cigs.

Its not always the tourist did something that deserves being attacked by a mob.

The locals know that the police will do nothing to them for doing this

Don’t fuck with Thai people in Thailand. They will gang up and absolutely fuck you up.

It doesn’t matter the circumstances the mentality is if a foreigner gets in an altercation with a Thai then every Thai in the area will help. This guy got off very very easily compared to what happens to most.

I’ve lived in Thailand for 5 years, they are lovely lovely people but if you’re a dickhead this isn’t a good place to mess with locals

Nah Thailand is outta control with the mob mentality, bunch of kids taking an opportunity to beat somebody up.

I know westerns should be punished for fucking around and find out, but I've just seen way to many videos that they take it wayyyy to far and end up seriously harming somebody.

Thailand has become a shit hole for tourism anyway, their economy is way to dependent on it and other SEA countries are over taking them.
