And once again, the police always seem to side with the assholes.

Yeah you can't do this in America. You get shot.

u/MaribouSt8 15h ago
Americans keep saying this yet outside of isolated incidents I've never seen protesters shot en masse.
It's giving "We've tried nothing and we're all out of ideas."

u/Ted-Crilly 14h ago
If the government shoots legitimate protests then that covers the 'tyrannical government' excuse they love to use as justification to keep their guns

u/BoneyDanza 6h ago
"I've never seen protesters shot en masse, just one every other month. Try harder" they said in reference to a video of police armed with batons and pepper spray.
Give Albania reserve currency status, the largest military in the world, and the government 300x more land; this clip would have ended differently.

I wish it was that simple

It is that simple.

I don’t have health insurance if I don’t go to my job I can’t pay for my healthcare, I barley make enough to support myself and I’m a manager at a large brewery. If I skip a day to protest I could lose my job, I lose my job my apartment rent doesn’t get paid, my health decline with my pre existing condition, my car could get repo’d. The US government has rigged the system to keep you having to work. We unfortunately don’t have the luxury of healthcare or renters rights or public transit. I feel defeated and deaf with media dominance of false information and suppression. Cameras track everything and Ice roams free. And I live in a liberal part of the US. I want change so badly I don’t want to suffer or anyone else but they really fucked us here. I really don’t know why I’m getting downvoted, we need unity and help not arguing. Wouldn’t be surprised if a bunch below are bots

no response from anyone about this, or you. Life isn’t so black and white and if you’re in Europe things are also bad there too, worse here but you all have issues too. I see what happening in France, Italy, Germany, Spain, UK, Albania this isn’t a US problem, it’s elites pushing us down. Let’s be united in our cause and no bicker amongst ourselves

u/genghis-san 14h ago
It is that simple. Go out there, occupy and protest. One No Kings protest a month ain't gonna do shit. Look at Spain too, they've been occupying the plazas with tents to protest housing reform and suddenly there's snap elections in November now. These people are also risking their health and safety to do this.

See America, that is how you protest as the island is commercialized anyway.

Some context because I can’t be the only one who’s just now hearing about this deal:

Great report. Sad situation that Albania’s only/last wild island is the one the Kushners are set to buy. Ending any wildlife preserve forever.

u/Bodgerpoo 16h ago
Good on them. Carry on. Hopefully they can't get any construction/destruction on the island going. Nor any materials or infrastructure set up. This will be a permanent protest no doubt.

u/k0zplay 12h ago
I think it would be better if they let them build the whole thing, and then the locals ruin it and make it so no one can visit lol that way, the kushner family lose out on their entire investment which is probably going to be around 100 million.
11
u/Over_Perception_2920 11h ago
No, because where they’re trying to build it, there’s protected wildlife, so if they build it if they’re gonna fuck over all of that wild wildlife

u/CooperAXE 17h ago
Imagine being one of these utter losers defending this dogshit corrupt government and having to assault your fellow countrymen and women for protesting a just cause...

At least Albanians are taking a stance against the Trumpstein dynasty, unlike Americans who did nothing

Aaaand sadly nothing will be accomplished, fucking Kushners will have them selves a new pdf paradise

I'll get downvoted for saying this, and I deserve it, but this is true... Everyone on here is saying this is how Americans should protest? They've been at it for 130 days and nothing is changing. As uneducated and complacent as Americans are, the fact remains that the people do not have the power; we're just acutely aware of that already.

Can I ask if you get violent towards police officers in France or Albania, do you go to prison for life or what kind of incarceration do you get compared to Americans?
Thats the type of stuff you dont hear about when comparing Americans to other countries.
5
u/sSummonLessZiggurats 7h ago
The difference between the US and Europe when it comes to this is that in the US, the government is constantly looking for any excuse to funnel you into the prison system long-term for cheap labor. That's why we have the highest incarceration rate in the world.
I'm not trying to tell anyone what they should or shouldn't do, but anyone actually living in the US will tell you that the police here pose a much greater risk to protestors. Anyone who's shocked at the lack of large-scale, aggressive protests here is either ignorant of that or just pretending to be.
1
u/SweetPrism 5h ago
Not to mention failing to really comprehend the facts: 130 days of protest and that island is damn sure gonna still be sold to Kushner. The government doesn't fear its people, not in Albania, not in the USA, probably not anywhere anymore.
2
u/jonbristow 2h ago
ALL the people arrested were let go in a matter of hours.
The judges have always deemed these arrests illegal. At least here in Albania

Oh sorry, did someone make you upset? Shame on them for complaining about you voting a pedophile into office and giving him the tools to fuck half the world over

u/bomboclawt75 14h ago
They have bought/ blackmailed the politicians and the politicians order the police to attack their own citizens to appease The Epstein Class.
And this is exactly the type of post that is being removed these days. Can't have people noticing things.
Just remember, it's all just very coincidental.

Today has been crazy students are back and they are escalating to V2 after the police brutally.
Just about few minutes ago they put on fire to town hall building
1
u/Kakdelacommon 13h ago
Its funny to see how even the police will be fucked in a few years because of that deal too.

u/VolesusBarbarus 11h ago
The government is a formalized extension of the people's will in democracy.
When the people speak, and the government turns away, the people have a moral duty t—DON'T STOP BELIEVIN' HOLD ON TO THAT FEE-EE-EELIN!

Fuck the Kushner family. Shame on the puppet regime of Albania.
