Games where NPCs are backed by a LLM are a great idea but unless the majority of people gain the ability to run the models locally they will be niche and weird with blunders like these.

RPG games would go hard with this...

Every game world would descend into a vile mess of sexual depravity, misogyny and racism.

You can obviously limit what a LLM can say/do in a game.

LLMs are mostly unpredictable. You can't really control the output without constant supervision

You don't have to allow any input to be fed into an LLM. But first create a filter and if certain keywords are present, you block the input and send an automated message.

You don't have to allow changes to the model, but you have to allow input in the form of context for it to be interesting. It's a cat and mouse game of AI companies filtering and users finding ways to manipulate the output or jailbreak safeguards.

Yeah exactly.

These weirdos act like they are experts. They just sound stupid.

Bullshit.

Lmao they have guardrails in most modern high tier ones. It’s not hard at all to lock the output of the question.

I know this cause I made an ai for my dystopian world, and the program interprets the message, finds the subject or question, compares it to allowed topics vs non-allowed topics and then spits out a generic “sorry I can’t do that Dave.” Response.

You have no idea what you are fucking talking about. Lol

OpenAI broke containment twice, so either the constraints are not as effective as you think, or they are just letting their model operate with impunity.

What the flying fuck are you talking about, that has nothing at all to do with preventing models from saying sexual things.

At most your "breach" would be them becoming experts in sexual innuendo..

The point being that maybe we are not as good at putting restraints on them as we think we are.

...that just means you can't control exactly what it'll say. Having it not say sexual things is fairly easy.
