It takes a serious set of balls to stand in front of a room, filled with concerned citizens, to present something of his own making and tell them that they need to go “look it up”. SERIOUSLY?
No, buddy, you don’t get to create the agenda, but tell others to do YOUR fccking homework.
That’s a level of pompous, lazy, hyped-up bullshit that should’ve had his ass thrown out of the building…. Real-time.

Storm In A Teacup 🍵 Measles. Cyclospora. Raw milk. Screwworm. Here are the top ways the Trump admin and RFK, Jr. are failing the USA’s public health.

They didn’t make America healthy again, they made preventable disease, contaminated food and public-health chaos part of American life again.

Measles has surged to levels not seen in decades while they undermine confidence in vaccines.
Source 1

A massive Cyclospora outbreak linked to contaminated lettuce has sickened thousands, while cuts to the CDC have raised concerns about America’s ability to track and contain outbreaks.
Source 2

Meanwhile, the movement around RFK Jr. has normalized raw-milk rhetoric even as the FDA continues warning about foodborne disease risks. This isn’t “health freedom” when the government weakens the scientists, inspectors, surveillance systems and vaccination programs designed to keep Americans from getting sick.

Marjorie Taylor Greene has a history of making sharp, controversial statements and accusations against Democrats, ranging from policy criticisms to incendiary rhetoric.

* "National Divorce" Tweet (February 2023): Greene called to separate red and blue states, citing what she described as "the Democrat's traitorous America Last policies" and woke culture issues.

* Abortion Debate (September 2021): During a shouting match with House Democrats over an abortion rights bill, she yelled, "Killing a baby up until birth is a lack of civility. It's called murder," and told Democrats to stand with mothers instead of "killing babies up until birth".

* Calling Democrats "Pedophiles" (March 2023): Greene defended referring to Democrats and their policies as supporting grooming or pedophilia, stating, "I'm not calling anyone names. I'm calling out the truth basically".

* Nancy Pelosi and Treason Allegations: In past online videos and social media activity resurfaced by media reports, Greene claimed former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was "guilty of treason" and a "traitor to our country," adding that it was a crime "punishable by death". She also interacted with a social media post that suggested violence against Pelosi.

* Obama and Clinton Remarks (2018): Before taking office, in response to a social media comment asking if critics could "hang" Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, Greene replied that the "stage is being set" and that they must be patient so liberal judges wouldn't let them off.

Storm In A Teacup 🍵 Difference between prepubescent males and females in sports?

Hi PoursTea

I just watched "David Cross: “I do not have an issue with trans kids...." https://www.reddit.com/r/PoursTea/comments/1szh2pv/david_cross_i_do_not_have_an_issue_with_trans/ on this sub and I don't like Bill but I have a question.

"the differences between a boy and a girl is minimal at prepubescent"... "It's true" .." look it up"

I guess this is not my experience at all. So I am wondering what people point to?

I did a fair bit of little athletics as a kid and now teaching kids as an adult.

There is the occasional female that gets close to the top of the males but in a group of 40 kids and the local suburb level (not being selective just the people that turn up) in long distance running a female might once in a blue moon get on the podium at 3rd one week.

Looking at all events only the under 7s are at all grouped together. all other ages there is a chasm on average. Even the most uncoordinated Male will be in the top 4 of the females when it comes to Shot Put and Discus.

And if you have a look at the all time records even at an Australian state level it's night and day. The records are not anecdotal like my experience.

Following are the records in NSW Australia population about 9 million. https://cdn.revolutionise.com.au/cups/nswathletics/files/oye9jdgdyt7yddgw.pdf

Storm In A Teacup 🍵 Anybody remember wildfires that choked out large swaths of the U.S. when we were kids?

I don’t.

That’s because it didn’t used to happen on this scale.

Politician’s answer? Blame forestry management. Blame Canada. Call climate change a Chinese hoax. Cancel contracts that monitor wildfires and build fire breaks.

Meanwhile, we’re doing little to address the conditions that make these fires bigger, hotter, and more frequent. Ignoring the thermometer doesn’t put out the fire. It just leaves us less prepared for the next one.

We need to get people who believe in rational science back into office.
