I feel like at that level of wealth you don't have friends anymore. To generate that level of wealth you gotta see everyone as what value they have for you and cannot have genuine connection anymore because you know that's how they also see you

How did he bankrupt a casino?? They print money!
5
u/Last_Cod_998 26d ago
Trump family business was money laundering and bribes. Real estate was always a front.
The Taj Mahal brought in enormous piles of money that summer. But when the cold winds of October came, the casino missed its first debt payment. By 1991, the Taj Mahal was in bankruptcy court.
Roffman was in court, too. He won a $750,000 arbitration judgment against his former employer. And he sued Trump, as well. That case settled out of court. Roffman says he used the money to start his own business.
https://www.npr.org/2016/10/10/497087643/the-analyst-who-gambled-and-took-on-trump
Timeline of Trump Casino Bankruptcies Trump Taj Mahal (1991) Opened in 1990, the Taj Mahal was financed with approximately $675 million in junk bonds carrying a 14% interest rate. Within a year, the casino couldn't meet its debt obligations and filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. As part of the restructuring, Trump ceded 50% ownership to bondholders in exchange for more favorable terms.
Trump Plaza Hotel (1992) Facing financial difficulties, the Trump Plaza Hotel filed for bankruptcy in 1992. Trump relinquished a 49% stake to lenders but retained his role as CEO, albeit without a salary or day-to-day operational control.
Trump Castle (1992) Formerly known as Trumpās Castle, this property also underwent bankruptcy proceedings in 1992 due to mounting debts and financial challenges.
Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts (2004) This publicly traded holding company, encompassing Trump's Atlantic City casinos, filed for bankruptcy with $1.8 billion in debt. The restructuring reduced Trump's ownership from 56% to 27%, and he stepped down as CEO, though he remained chairman of the board.
Trump Entertainment Resorts (2009) The successor to Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts, this entity filed for bankruptcy amid the Great Recession. Trump resigned from the board shortly before the filing. The company emerged from bankruptcy in 2016 and was acquired by investor Carl Icahn.
That idiot though if he killed the leader of Iran he could find someone as shallow as him that would agree to spit the safe passage fees for the Strait
4
u/MadStylus 26d ago
Combination of money laundering, opening a second in the same area so he just doubled his operating costs and cheapskate mismanagement.
He killed it quick to make a fast buck instead of stopping to think he could just let the money printer make more money over a long period of time.
4
u/Icy_Fish_2154 26d ago
He embezzled from them until they were dead. Then declared bankruptcy to avoid having to make back the stolen money.

That is true. I believe this time will be different. Iām hoping that the democrats have learned that putting the status quo people in power isnāt what the people want. Mueller and Garland were the wrong people because they were never going to do what needed done. They did just enough or not enough.
Jack smith was getting shit done but his fatal mistake was filing in Florida. Then he gets a corrupt Trump bootlicker judge.
So I hope they put people in the FBI and DOJ whoāll burn the house down if necessary to cut the corruption out and lock every grifter in government and not up. There must be serious consequences for the criming thatās happening. That includes politicians and judges. We know from self disclosure and other reports that at least 3 consecutive justices are on the take. We know Trump his family and probably the entire executive branch is breaking laws and self dealing. So weāll see.2
u/imVexx 25d ago
I can agree with all of that.
Going into Biden's presidency there was a lot of talk from all sides about how holding Trump accountable would start a bad precedent. I think a lot of what Biden did during his presidency was well intentioned in that he wanted to return the White House to what it was prior to Trump. He wanted to avoid a partisan Presidency as much as possible and maybe he was hoping the American people would use their votes to hold Trump accountable.
It's unfortunate because Trump ended up in power again and has caused immense harm this term already as it is. That said Biden's approach ensured that if we go all in on holding Trump (and everyone under him) accountable now, there will be no question that we spent an entire presidency trying an overtly bipartisan approach first in order to prevent that bad precedent being set.
I can only hope that's the plan though.

Even if he were a legitimately good businessman...
Why would you ever want a non-profit government to be run like a for profit business?
We don't want them to turn a profit, we want them to render services to us and use power we give them to ensure basic rights we voted for.
A business doesn't care about your rights if you aren't a customer, and even then, it barely cares. It just wants to maximize profits by any means necessary. Why would we ever want the government to do that?
It's like asking Nestle to supply all water as a subscription.

He does ruin anything associated with him, but itās an issue of the Kennedy Center being a tax payer money grab and not being allowed to put his name on something that was congressionally approved to stay the Kennedy Center since 1964.
Heās mad that he wonāt be able to steal the $250 million in the way of no-bid construction contracts thatāll kickback to him. He was also ordered to have his name removed, which was illegal to add above the John Kennedy Center name to begin with, by a judge so of corse if he canāt have any of that heās going to shut it down. Iām not convinced that the Kennedy Center is in such physical shambles that would need a complete overhaul or going bankrupt; itās a grift for him.

It was the apprentice that brought so many people to trump, the entire show was completely fake. NBC acknowledged as much. It was also the only money that he made in his life. IIRC the leaked tax returns proved that and that money bailed him out of debt.
