Only 90%? Fake news.

64

u/SkylineWaffles Sep 05 '26

Do you know how many MAGAts still believe Trump hasn’t made money unlawfully via a bs trust, crypto, govt contracts and loans to his kids and friends, insider trading, pardons for donations into his campaign fund, foreign private wealth management including Venezuelan oil revenue and a fucking plane from Qatar, merch sales, etc etc etc

43

u/lndubitablyMe Sep 05 '26

ā€œHe doesn’t even take a salary.ā€

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

When ppl rob banks they don't call it a salary either! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

14

He's never actually proven that.Ā

6

u/Lonely_Cucumber_69 Sep 06 '26

He has but guess who he donates his salary to. The organization responsible to upkeep and decorate the White House. He’s using the salary to make the White House tacky again!!!!

5

u/Separate-Ad9638 Sep 06 '26

he uses presidential powers to grant favours after a donation, that is more lucrative than any salary, and there is insider trading for govt contracts too.

For some it's even worse. They believe he's entitled to it because of the horrible witch hunt he had to endure. "He spent a billion dollars on lawyers!".

5

u/Meep_Morp_Zorp_Zeep Sep 06 '26

He grifted all of his legal fees from the dipshits that voted for him. For several weeks during 2022, he was searching for a law firm but couldn’t find any that would back him without requiring an insane retainer because they knew his cases were a lost cause.

Corruption always existed in US politics.
But never so bluntly openly obviously.

He and his family and butt licking sycophants are counting on that they’ll win the next elections and that it’ll have no legal consequences after all.

Even if they lose the next elections, the Dems will most likely come up with an excuse and won’t go after those corrupt politicians ā€œfor the sake of peaceā€.

The two party system is the main driver for why the system will never change.

My dad still thinks Trump is doing what he thinks is right for the country. MAGA don't think with their brains, they think with their Facebook feeds and Faux News commentary.

The fact my dad has such an emotional instant reaction to anything negative against Trump, always ends up looking like he was brainwashed. It's so sudden, like a PTSD episode was triggered.

Approx. 25-30 percent of American adults are MAG-gots. So, if the nearly 90 percent figure cited in this study is accurate, it means that well over half of all MAG-gots actually believe that corruption is rife in the US govt. And yet, they still cling to their Orange Lord and Savior. That's loyalty for you.

32

u/Big77Ben2 Sep 05 '26

They’re fine with it if it’s in their favor.

14

u/cmwills29 Sep 05 '26

They're just being told it's the other side who's corrupt, and they believe the projection wholeheartedly

4

u/Big77Ben2 Sep 05 '26

That and they’re literally ok with certain things.

3

u/Neveronlyadream Sep 06 '26

They're okay with certain things so long as those things are only theoretical to them.

Which makes them bigger assholes. If they personally had to deal with all the things they're fine with, they would (and have) throw a fit and claim it wasn't fair or just or legal.

I find it surprising that Trump had people so wound up over govt corruption that they literally thought someone named 'Q' would lead a purge that brought those infidels to their death,,,

And now - crickets. Apparently, they don't really believe in the values they claim to have when they learn the call is coming from inside their own house.

Oh honey, no. They don't care it was nonsense. They never cared. It just gave them an excuse to hate people they already hated.

Sure, they might believe it in the moment. But they don't actually care if it's nonsense. They won't feel anything at all if you prove it is. They'll be on to their next blatantly-nonsense excuse for hating people before you finish the sentence.

4

u/CriticalDiscipline4 Sep 05 '26

90% of Americans don't believe in the same corruption, though. For instance, I don't believe the civil service is corrupt. I don't believe election results have any material levels of fraud or manipulation.

But I do believe Trump, his family, and his cronies are making crazy money on actual factual bribes, noncompetitive bids on government contracts, Ponzi schemes, and market manipulations. I believe Trump is one of the biggest liars in human history and is poisoning people's minds against democracy and the rule of law. I believe he is maliciously prosecuting people. I believe Trump and his allies are doing race-based gerrymandering and race-based purges of voting rolls. And I believe Trump did set afoot an insurrection on 1/16/21 and is capable of doing so again--as evidenced by pardoning numerous insurrectionists.

How many people believe (a) vs. (b)?

2

u/LobstaFarian2 Sep 06 '26

1

u/Gainztrader235 Sep 05 '26

If you don’t agree, you are uplugged and not paying attention.

Gallup’s newest number is actually 89%, not 90%: nearly nine in ten Americans say government corruption is widespread, including 83% of Republicans, 90% of independents, and 91% of Democrats.

The U.S. government withheld effective syphilis treatment from Black men in the Tuskegee study even after penicillin became available. It conducted or sponsored unethical human-radiation experiments. It forcibly incarcerated Japanese Americans. The FBI ran COINTELPRO, infiltrating and disrupting domestic political and civil-rights groups, sometimes despite little or no evidence of illegal activity. Watergate involved political espionage, abuse of presidential power, and a cover-up. And today, a sitting president has reported more than $1.4 billion in annual income largely from private crypto ventures while in office.

None of that requires a conspiracy theory. It’s documented American history.

So when nearly 9 out of 10 Americans say corruption is widespread, the remarkable part may be that there’s still an 11% who don’t.
The historical examples are documented by the CDC, Department of Energy, National Archives, FBI, and Reuters.

The next sad part, is some think it only applies to their opposite political affiliation.

1

u/Bob_85 Sep 05 '26

"new"

This has been public opinion for decades

1

u/Cultural-Gas2246 Sep 05 '26

The fact that they only think it's now widespread is the sad part about this. As soon as the idiot family who does it all in the open leaves office, people will just return to assuming the corruption is all over and it's not as widespread.

The entire socio-political order is inherently and foundationally corrupt. It's all been founded on cronyism from the start. The entire state/government apparatus exists to serve at the pleasure and discretion of landed and extremely wealthy elites. Always has done. Ordinary people have a minute say in how things are done in their own country. Everything is decided by wealthy elites. All policy decisions.

What makes the current, idiot, ruling family "more corrupt" is that they openly play favourites between different corporate entities. And worse still they don't necessarily favour US based elites over foreign elites, like a good President should.

1

u/SeresVictoria Sep 05 '26

1

u/Mikkel65 Sep 05 '26

Of all administrations….you people that think this is all ā€œthe other sideā€ and that goes for both sides are an embarrassment to this country.
I mean to not be able to think for yourselves is ridiculous. Because if either a) you believe it’s just the other party or b) that’s all your algorithm shows then you are screwed either way

I love how we basically hire these people to to stop corruption and they get so out of control stealing everything. Trying to shutdown our democracy and constitution. They try to usher in fascism and when we complain they throw their hands in the air and tell us it’s up to the people they cannot do anything to stop it. Like what are we paying them for. They are all corrupt. But one side is way worse than the other by light years. There needs to be another word to describe this kind of corruption.
