It's already unlikely to get a resignation letter, especially one you can actually respond to. You trying to make it impossible to know if you are no longer in the running at all?

I've actually worked for a boss that would hire someone for this cause he would find it hilarious

But it is also difficult to find someone that wants to do my type of work and have a sense of humor
