Ash is 11 in canon but the Pokemon anime has been around for more than 20 years meaning they're trying to say Ash isn't actually 11 and thus... well I'm sure you can fill in the rest.

I thought it was Ho-Oh? In like the original series first episode ending he sees Ho-Oh in the sky and makes a wish, and the consequence is he’s eternally 11 because sighting Ho-Oh promises happiness to pure hearted people, and to Ash happiness is to be eternally traveling and battling as a pre-teen

The political compass has the lower right quadrant colored yellow or purple. Yellow thinks that freedom should have limits, like age of consent, purple thinks it shouldn't is the overly simplified form for this meme.

It was a joke. Also, as someone who sat through the XYZ anime, the writing in that generation was dogsh*t. Ash wasn't even Ash anymore. He was reduced to a cardboard cutout that just said, "Wow! Science is so amazing!" every episode. I think the original Ash quit during Gen 3, and the series had different actors playing him in-universe for the later seasons.

At the very end of the first episode of pokemon Ash saw Ho-Oh, a legendary pokemon that is said to grant wishes. Ash wished that his and pikachu's adventure could last forever. He was given eternal youth. This is never said directly but its implied and evidence is there to support it.

Slightly off timewise. Pokemon anime started in 1998, Pokemon XY seasons (where Serena is introduced) came out around 2013 - only 15 years later. Still pedo.

You know I get everyone points out how it doesn’t make sense how ash hasn’t aged much. But while it took like 20 years for him to reach the end of his journey in our years. But in his time frame it may have only been a year or two. As if a show takes 3 years to come out with a new season the characters who were 20 won’t magically just be 23 now, they most likely will keep the same age as in that universe only a day or two has passed

Ash has been 11 since the series started in 1999 and even though season and holiday pass within the show and in the real world, the show went for over 20 seasons, he’s still 11

To be fair even if Ash did age Serena would still be about the same age as him due to her backstory. She knew ash wen they were small children. Now if it was Lillie or Chloe then it would make more sense.
