Talk / Discussion I got 24K views but only 2000 views were monetized... Damn, now i understand the importance of high RPM

Also the video has 130k views in general... But this month it has 24k.. but the monetized views are so low

Its like you can get 100k views on your video... But you get payed only for few views. Like my video this month.... I have 24k views but only 2000 views are monetized.. meaning other views use adblocker or didn't see any ads..

Where do you see that?

I copied this from the other reply

"Your RPM is not important.

Your AVD (average view duration) is important. You need to keep people watching long enough to watch ads. A viewer needs to watch at least 30 seconds of an ad or watch a full ad if it is under 30 seconds long, for it to count as a monetised view. If they hit the "skip ad" button between 5 and 29 seconds, does not count. Also, if your videos are under 8 minutes long, there are no mid-roll ads.

Now you understand "

Blame social media for pushing for 1m video and consequently reduce everyone's attention span. It's a real thing

Mmhh that explains it.. Now i see its very important to have viewers who watches the videos from the TV, because yt forces them to watch ads more than 3 seconds
