Discussion Thank god

Post image

Thank God the no 5-hour limits and same weekly usage is going to win. I don't know about y'all but I'm quite happy with the weekly limits, to be honest. At least if I had 5-hour usage limit barriers, that would interrupt my work a lot more than having less weekly usage. Thank God that the no 5-hour limits and same weekly usage low-key won. The voting is going to end in 30 minutes but it seems like it won

Or, and bear with me here, maybe different people have different jobs with different needs. I’m in CRM marketing, there is no “schedule xyz overnight!!!” Optimization I can do. I need to have compute when I need it, and sometimes that’s the whole day. Anyone in marketing could tell you departments are constantly in flux and everything is always on fire. There is no “budget around this arbitrary time” that works for me.

Happy with the results. Pay for more if you want more.

"Pay for more if you want more?" Take your own advice - get multiple accounts and switch when you exhaust the five-hour usage on one.

I took my own advice and paid $500 and have no 5 hour limit

Nice you're paying 2.5x for the same usage $200 has a couple of weeks ago. BRAVO!

Bro forgot to ask Astra to do the math for him before making that decision probably lol

💀 bro thinks being fiscally irresponsible is a flex

However, I personally don’t actually care what you do with your money. But it’s so telling about your little ego how you felt the need to say that over a little joke 🤣

So now wouldn't it be great if you got that and also x2 usage?

With 5 hour limits? No - so I voted against it

Thank you

You voted to avoid a problem that you do not have, while giving up usage that you could use?

Make it make sense.

I regularly use over 5 hours a day and usage is not an issue

You guys are insufferable

So you bought enough usage that you don't have a five-hour limit, AND you don't use all the usage that you bought.

Then why the fuck did you vote?

Homie, I get you’re all so brainrotted here that you can’t read, but I’ll try this one more time.

I bought enough usage because I use my entire bar every week. I don’t want 5-hour limits because my work is not schedulable; it’s random. Some days I’m slammed, some days I’m not. It’s Monday at 12:30 and I’m at 86% of my weekly allotment already.

Get it? Now move on; you lost the vote.

You just wrote that you bought the $500 plan and you don't have a five-hour limit any more. You won't have to worry about it.

In case you have some kind of special condition where you're physically incapable of scrolling, here it is:

I took my own advice and paid $500 and have no 5 hour limit

Here, I'll even bold the important part for you:

I took my own advice and paid $500 and have no 5 hour limit

That you? Did your account get hacked? Did you forget what you wrote? Did you have a stroke?

Ok, buy the usage credits. Pay more if you want more. The option is there. From an infrastructure standpoint I can get behind some limits. The compute needs to be capable of peak load, if you can reduce peak but raise sustained load then you can serve significantly more users (5hr limits). I wouldn't expect someone in CRM marketing to understand (genuinely, not trying to insult you here) that rate limits like this actually drastically change overall cost and complexity (in some extreme cases 8-10x more compute is needed to be online 24/7, meaning cost is that much more, even if it isn't doing anything during that time) to run the computers serving everything. I am a fan of making it optional though. By that I mean a toggle that can only change when your usage is at 100% or 0% weekly which halves your weekly but removes 5hr limits, or doubles the weekly limit but Introduces a 5hr limit. Though that wouldn't solve the issue they are trying to solve unless enough people opt in. It also adds a lot of operational complexity. In any case, I am shocked how many people could use 30% of their weekly limit in 5hrs on Pro plans. Genuinely shocked. If you hit that, you likely need to change something you are doing. Especially with CRM marketing. The amount of token burn from doing things in a CRM should be a trickle compared to coding in large codebases, so I am in awe of the fact you could hit the limit. Genuine question, what are you doing to burn so many tokens on those busy bursty days?

Brother, I run 11 separate companies’ CRM programs. I have basic Word documents that AI can spend an hour parsing, let alone Excel sheets or other data reconciliation between the different programs. I generate millions in revenue. It’s unfortunate your work needs more compute and you don’t want to pay for it; I needed it too and did pay for it. I don’t need or want 5-hour limits; it will hurt my productivity. Thank you.

Good for you man, sounds like you got a good thing going. Still sounds like your workflow could use some optimization. Data reconciliation shouldn't take that much, same with parsing word docs and excel stuff. Even if it is big and messy. I run a privatized AI company for business users (rather than developers) and I see stuff like this all the time. You have any AI consultants or devs you talk with about your workflows? I am not in the business of consulting, but it sounds like you'd benefit from a conversation or two with some AI consultants or AI savvy devs 🙂 they might make things much smoother for you. It also sounds like you make enough for something like that to make sense. Also, usage credits are a good way to disincentivize usage over 5 hrs, but still allows you to go past it in a pinch. Id love if they gave us a set amount of usage credits a month for the 1-3 days a month people might really need it. I'll take more weekly usage, and more efficiency of infrastructure, with auto resume for my long running development workflows on the occasion I hit a 5hr limit. I am already at 5 x 200$ accounts, I don't want to double that at the end of the month. If they half the credits I won't die, but it isn't fun paying double an already large bill. That doesn't include my employees either.
