Day 30 - Today wasn’t the best day, but starting tomorrow, I’ll get back in shape

Today, honestly, wasn’t that great either. I feel like I’ve been procrastinating more over the last few days. I’ll pull myself back together. I should plan my days more carefully. I’ve already reflected on this in my journal, so I won’t type it here.

Tomorrow:

  1. Wake up in the morning and go to the gym.
  2. Call a dental clinic. It’s not that scary—I hope I’ll do it and won’t make excuses. I can just ask questions; I don’t have to book an appointment!
  3. Do my part of the group homework. I should just get it done quickly in the morning. I don’t need to make it perfect; it’s okay to just get it finished.
  4. Collect my things and hand them over to the storage room.
  5. Close the credit card.
  6. Finish the special homework.
  7. Start working toward my goal.
  8. Book appointments with doctors.
  9. Rest properly.

Achievement Day 51/90 — Getting Things Done, Even When I'm Tired

Today was a more productive day overall, although I still struggled with my routine and energy levels.

I woke up a little late and missed my morning run. Instead of skipping physical activity completely, I did a workout at home. I had gone to sleep late the previous night because I was watching research videos related to my field, so waking up on time was difficult.

Despite that, I managed to complete most of the tasks I had planned for yesterday. That's something I'm glad about because I had a lot of pending work piling up, and I finally started making progress on it.

What I Got Done Today

  • Completed most of yesterday's pending tasks.
  • Went through the news and finance.
  • Practised LeetCode.
  • Applied for jobs.
  • Researched ways to automate job applications using Claude.
  • Worked on editing my personal branding video.
  • Conducted my assessment sessions.
  • Completed a workout at home despite missing my morning run.

I'm particularly interested in figuring out how to automate parts of my job search. Applying for jobs takes time, and I want to explore whether AI can help streamline the process without compromising the quality of my applications.

I also spent time editing my video and handling my assessment sessions, so there was quite a bit going on throughout the day.

Where I Slipped

The afternoon was the difficult part.

I ended up sleeping and losing some time instead of using it as planned. I was already tired from sleeping late, and by the end of the day, I could feel how much energy everything had taken out of me.

Even now, I'm feeling exhausted.

I don't want to use that as an excuse for every unproductive moment, but I also need to understand the difference between procrastinating and genuinely being tired. If I keep sleeping late and expecting myself to perform well the next morning, I'll continue creating the same problem.

Watching research videos related to my field can be useful, but I need to make sure they don't come at the expense of sleep and the work I'm supposed to complete.

My Takeaway

One positive thing today was that I didn't let yesterday's unfinished tasks remain pending indefinitely. I worked through most of them while also keeping up with my regular responsibilities.

However, I need to manage my energy better. I want to wake up earlier, return to running when appropriate, continue applying for jobs, and make progress on my professional goals without exhausting myself through an inconsistent sleep schedule.

I'm learning that productivity isn't just about squeezing more tasks into a day. It's also about building a routine that allows me to keep showing up consistently.

Day 51/90 complete.

One day at a time. I still have a lot to fix, but today I made progress on things I'd been avoiding, and I want to build on that tomorrow.

Maybe the commute was doing the hard part?

You walk to work for months and start thinking of yourself as someone who moves every day. Then you switch jobs, and the walk disappears. No big decision to quit. Your day just changed.

Has that happened to you with walking, stairs, or any other movement you got almost for free?

Did you find a way to bring it back, or was it gone?

I can't tell how much of a "habit" is actually the person, and how much is the place.

Sleep duration: ~ 6h 20m

Running: ~ 02:05 – 02:50

Last meal: ~ 19:55

👹Mistake: running late, poor bedtime routine

  1. Nutrition: ✅️ ( goal: eat healthy foods first, then sweets and pastries )

  2. Physical activity ✅️ ( walking 30+ minutes, Day 282 of running )

🎯 Goal: 120–180 minutes per day on the project (Ph+Bl) + time for unforeseen issues

🗳 Result:

Speed of starting tasks: average

Takeaway for the day: continuing to log mistakes and analyze patterns

I categorized the mistakes by area based on frequency: time management issues, poor bedtime routines, and emotional regulation.

For now, I feel I need to take a more serious approach to the supplements I sometimes take inconsistently, and get more downtime by myself (I used to feel self-conscious about this, but lately I’ve been feeling very tired, and I hope this will help me recover better).

I also realized that I need different plans depending on my energy levels (I often try to get things done even when I’m tired - but fatigue accumulates, leading to irritability and burnout)

I made an Android app for keeping track of the small things that make a day non-zero

One page read. One short walk. One message to someone you've been meaning to check on. Those are all things worth recording even when the rest of the day didn't go to plan.

I'm the developer of Inner Game, and I wanted to share it here because its focus is small daily actions. You can track a practice, earn Confidence Points, and write down three good things from the day in a wins journal.

A way to use it: choose one manageable action in the morning, log it when it's done, and write down what went right in the evening. Keep the first week small enough that setting up the system doesn't become the main activity.

Android link:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.innergame.mobile

If you track your non-zero days already, what do you want to remember later: the action itself, how hard starting felt, or what helped you follow through?

Achievement Day 50/90 — 40 Days Left, and I Need to Be Honest With Myself

Today marks Day 50 of my 90-day challenge. I have only 40 days left, and honestly, when I look back, I don't see the consistent progress I was hoping for.

I started this challenge with a lot of motivation. The first few weeks were good, and I was making genuine efforts to improve my routines. But somewhere along the way, I lost that momentum. Now, I have pending tasks piling up, my routine is a mess, and I've started questioning myself and my decisions.

I think it's time to be honest about what's been holding me back.

Looking Back at My Mistakes

One of the biggest problems has been how much time I've wasted on unnecessary videos and pornography, including getting caught up in compulsive sexual habits. These have taken up far more of my time and attention than I want to admit.

I've noticed how these habits can leave me feeling drained, affect my ability to concentrate, and undermine my confidence. I kept falling into the same cycle even when I knew it wasn't helping me.

Another problem is that I've been playing it too safe in almost every area of my life.

My income hasn't increased, and instead of actively trying to improve my financial situation, I've been focused on adjusting my expenses to survive on the same income. There's nothing wrong with managing expenses, but using that as a substitute for pursuing better opportunities is a problem. Inflation isn't going to wait for me, and neither will the opportunities I'm missing.

My motorcycle is another example. Whenever it developed an issue, I kept choosing minor fixes just to keep it running. Over time, those small problems piled up, and now I'm facing a much bigger engine issue that will cost more to repair. I could go for another temporary fix, but I don't want to keep repeating the same mistake and throwing money at a problem that needs a proper solution.

The same pattern has been showing up in my career.

I've been planning to move to Bangalore to look for better job opportunities. After several conversations, I managed to get my family to understand my decision. But now that it's time to act, I've been postponing the move.

Home feels comfortable. It's familiar, easy, and safe. Moving to a new city means uncertainty, responsibility, and having to figure things out on my own.

I've also been postponing my final institutional exams, making excuses and telling lies to avoid dealing with them.

When I look at all these situations together, I see a pattern: I'm choosing short-term comfort even when I know it's creating bigger problems for my future.

That's something I need to change.

Day 50 — What I Actually Did

Today wasn't a perfect day, but I was more engaged than I have been recently.

I woke up late, scheduled my personal branding video across all my platforms, and went swimming. After returning, I spent some time checking social media views and engagement, went through the news and finance, and made a few updates to my capstone project that I'd been putting off for a while.

I also had a service idea that I wanted to propose to my uncle for his business. I'd been postponing that as well, but today I finally prepared the idea and sent it to him.

Then came the part where I fell back into my usual pattern.

I thought about studying in the afternoon, but decided to take a break first. That break stretched into the evening, and I ended up sleeping and watching unnecessary videos instead of studying.

Later, I had an assessment session to conduct. At night, I recorded a short video for my personal brand, edited it, conducted another session, and finally completed some LeetCode practice.

I'm now watching a new IBM video about AI agents.

It was a tiring day because I was juggling several things, and I did make progress on tasks that had been sitting unfinished for a long time. But I still wasted valuable hours that could have been used much better.

Being busy and being productive aren't always the same thing. I need to remember that.

Taking Some Important Decisions

Today, I wrote down the things I've been procrastinating on in a notepad.

Most of the tasks on that list have been there in my mind for weeks or even longer. I completed the majority of what I wrote down, but there are still important things left to do. I'll also need to add more as I remember them.

At least now, I'm starting to turn a vague sense of being overwhelmed into an actual list of things I can work through.

I also blocked the platforms and websites I was using to fall back into those compulsive habits. I don't want to keep relying on willpower alone while leaving the same distractions easily accessible.

I know blocking websites isn't a magical solution. I still need to change the behaviour and the decisions behind it. But it's a practical first step, and I want to take it seriously.

Tomorrow Might Be a Turning Point

I've been thinking about tomorrow because I have several important pending tasks and ideas that I want to finally act on.

If things work out as I'm hoping, tomorrow could be a significant day. It might also be exhausting, because I'm finally dealing with the backlog I've created through weeks of postponing things.

But that's the reality of it. The work didn't disappear just because I kept avoiding it. It accumulated, and now I have to deal with it.

I don't want to keep making ambitious plans, writing about my mistakes, and then repeating them the next day. I want to see actual changes in my decisions and actions.

I still have 40 days left.

I can't undo the time I've wasted, and I can't expect to transform my life overnight. But I can stop making the same excuses, face the things I've been avoiding, and start making decisions that move me forward rather than keep me comfortable.

Day 50/90 complete.

For the next 40 days, I want to focus less on how motivated I feel and more on what I actually do.

It's time to stop playing safe with my future.

Achievement Day 46–49/90 — I've Messed Up My Routine, and I Need to Get Back on Track

I forgot to post updates for all these days. I remembered at some point, but I kept procrastinating, and now here I am, combining four days into one post again.

Honestly, this has become a pattern, and I need to stop letting it continue.

The Last Four Days

There isn't much positive to report about these days.

I haven't been doing any physical activities consistently. Apart from swimming once, I've mostly stayed away from exercise because my injury still hasn't healed completely.

My professional side has also taken a serious hit. I've been slacking off badly, watching unnecessary videos, and wasting time on things that don't really contribute to my goals.

I haven't been practising LeetCode consistently, haven't read my book in a long time, and haven't been keeping up with the news and finance either.

Basically, most of the routines I worked on building have fallen apart.

It's frustrating because I know what I should be doing, but I keep putting it off. Even posting these daily updates, which was supposed to help me stay accountable, has become another task I procrastinate on.

A Small Change Yesterday

Yesterday evening, I finally decided to do something about it.

I sat down, wrote out the tasks I needed to complete, and started working through them one by one.

I still have some tasks left, but just getting everything out of my head and putting it on paper helped me start taking action.

Most of these are things I've been postponing for a long time. If I can finish them, I think it will give me a good advantage because I'll finally be clearing some of the backlog that's been hanging over me.

It wasn't a massive achievement, but it was a start.

What I'm Realising

I've spent the last few days falling back into the same habits I wanted to get rid of.

Procrastinating, watching random videos, sleeping too much, avoiding difficult tasks, and telling myself I'll do everything later.

And the longer I continue, the harder it feels to get back into the routine.

But I also know that constantly feeling guilty about wasting time isn't going to fix anything.

I need to stop focusing on how badly I've messed up and start working on what I can do today.

I also need to be sensible about my injury instead of rushing back into physical activities before I've recovered properly.

What I'm Going to Do Next

For now, I want to focus on clearing the tasks I've already listed instead of making another complicated schedule.

I need to get back to studying, practise LeetCode, start reading again, catch up on the news and finance, and put consistent effort into my professional growth.

I also need to return to posting daily instead of letting several days pass before I write an update.

I don't expect everything to become perfect overnight. I just want to start rebuilding the routine, one task at a time.

Day 46–49/90 complete.

I've messed up my routine, but I don't want to spend the remaining days repeating the same mistakes.

I've completed more than half of this challenge. I still have time to make the remaining days count, but that will only happen if I stop postponing the work and actually do it.

Day 28 - I should get back on track

Today I didn’t do much either, but I’ll get back on track tomorrow. The main reason for my procrastination is that when things went wrong, I didn’t adjust my schedule. I should always correct it in real time if something goes wrong.

Tomorrow:

  1. Record a short video.
  2. Buy traps for cockroaches.
  3. Do my money-related homework (create a chat and start working on it).

The main idea of the server is to simulate the feeling of studying in a library at the comfort of your own home (or anywhere, really!). Basically:

  1. Determine your goals for the day in #to-do list
  2. Join the voice call and broadcast (be it your desktop or your webcam) : its a cam channel, however If you’re shy, you don’t have to turn on your camera. You may share your screen instead, or just watch other people studying with you.
  3. If you want, invite others to do pomodoro and forest sessions
