Reddit I’m building a tool to help Nigerian students understand their mistakes and prepare better for JAMB, WAEC and NECO

One thing I've been thinking about while building myJAMB (myExam) is that practising past questions is only one part of preparing for an exam. Understanding why you got a question wrong matters just as much.

That's one of the things I'm trying to solve.

With Snap and Solve, you can type a question or upload a picture, let the system detect the subject, and get an answer with an explanation. For Maths, it can break down the solution step by step. It also suggests related topics you should study.

I'm also building features to help students check their exam readiness, take quizzes, review past mistakes, and track their progress.

I've put together a short demonstration of how it works.

The web version goes live this Friday. The past-question database is still a work in progress, so I'm opening up the platform to get real feedback and improve it.

I'm building this for Nigerian students, and I'd genuinely like to know what you think.

If you're preparing for JAMB, WAEC, NECO or Post-UTME, what's one thing you wish you could do better when preparing for exams?

If you are a student, professional, and job seekers and you need a place to practice for your exams or job interviews. Please check out https://www.pair2mock.com. They are very useful with their mock interviews. You can connect with other people who are also looking to practice and you’d both be matched to practice with one another. There’s also an AI interview where you can practice with a guided AI. Many more features just check it out.

Discussion I think my mom hates me now

My mom recently said she felt she’d failed as a mother because I stopped going to church since I came to Canada. The real reason I stopped going to church is because I stopped believing in God, and that is for 2 reasons
1. I’ve never seen any reason to believe in Him
2. Prayers never get answered
3. Most things in the bible have been scientifically disproven, and the rest of it is just hearsay
4. I don’t agree with the multiple cases of genocide and outright misogyny displayed by God and his people in the bible
5. The unprovoked homophobia and general hatred towards people of other cultures and religions.

I tried having this conversation with my mother and she just concluded that I’ve been possessed by a demon. She insisted I get on my knees and beg God for forgiveness so I would make her happy. I said if I did it I wouldn’t mean it so I rather not. We ended up having a heated argument
Now she’s leaving me on read and won’t text me

General Homophobic Nigerians don't want a modern civilization.

Ignoring the triviality of the Qing Madi situation, most Nigerians being homophobic is a sign of Nigerians pure moral decay and their aversion to modern society they so desperately want.

I grew up fully in Nigeria and even my parents born and bred from the village who have never been to the west still aren't half as homophobic as these fuckass Nigerians on my timeline like my parents are conservative as hell yet they don't have hatred nor look down that much on LGBTQ individuals the only sect they seem to dislike and abhor are trans individuals but that's probably from being propagandized by facebook or something.

Nigeria being a very homophobic country is a sign that Nigerian society fundamentally doesn't want liberal values, the values they want to japa to in the west is what they don't want in their own home. Nigerians want hierarchy, they love hierarchy, they love the rich Nigerians that do what they want without a care in the world, they love the political elite and economic elite that eat their future away cause when they dream they dream of them eventually becoming that class that would eat the next generations future away.

It's not even like the west is perfect far from it they're some of the most institutionally hypocritical people to exist but the hundreds of years of great minds debating yadda yadda has led to the idea of liberal values that shaped their society to become prosperous as is even tho they heavily disobey the values in their neo colonialism and stuff. But the idea of those values alone is what has led them to where they are now even tho they don't follow it like the bible.

They love the fact that they have more social rights than some individuals they revel in the idea of superiority, men are more superior to women, the rich are more superior to the poor, the healthy more superior to the sickly these all are ideas that in the Nigerian head are laws of the universe and if anything tries to tear down these laws then that's an attack on how the universe works and an attack on Nigerian society.

Nigeria cannot be a better society or at least become the society these people want it to become if it remains this shamelessly feudal. Nigeria doesn't even have to become a beacon of LGBTQ rights or anything like that hell gay rights don't even have to be created. Nigeria just has to stop with this useless attitude of might makes right big man superiority bullshit that many subscribe to. Nigerians would copy shamelessly in the name of money, they would follow trends like cattle all for the sake of social prestige and to become this big person in society so they can continue to do nonsense to other people.

Culture Why so loud?

Nigerian lady I share an office with has her phone blasting watching AI videos every hour of the day, I tell her that it's too loud every single day and then she turns it down, but it's the same process every single day. She's a nice lady and I don't want to embarrass her by complaining about it but I've never met a person so socially unaware. I've never interacted with a Nigerian person before her and I'm wondering if this is just standard behavior or if she's tripping

Politics "Why are we blaming Tinubu all the time for everything? Nigerian society is the problem".

I keep on hearing a variation of this talking point on this forum and on others all the time, that nigerian people and their attitude needs to change before we point a finger at our president or our leaders.

I think two things can be true. The people can change their character, but competent leaders can also socially engineer a better society. For example that "rape festival" doesnt happen if significant pressure and resources from the president are put on the police chief and his men, and consequences of inaction or ineptitude fall on their heads as well as the criminals.

Thats the problem we are facing, there is no pressure or accountibility on authorities by the president or the people to work, and because they have bank accounts, family members or investments abroad, they have no pressure or need to serve you. Our president can mess up our economy currently, because he has no one to hold him by the neck, and he knows he has bank accounts, his family and residences in the UK to run to if he gets exiled.

We have already seen how in three and a half years, he did little to nothing, but suddenly because an election is coming up, we have a working government again. If we need Nigeria to work in its current state, we need leverage against these "public servants".

Dangle the sword above the king and his officials heads, and see how fast they govern the kingdom efficiently, and how fast the people magically fall in line.

Ask Naija Nigeria wanted to ban solar panel imports when people are already struggling with electricity? Who came up with this idea?

I honestly don't understand the thinking behind this proposed solar import ban.

NEPA can take light whenever they want, fuel prices are not smiling, and more Nigerians are turning to solar just to have some peace of mind. People are spending their hard earned money on inverters, batteries and panels because they are tired of depending on the grid.

Now imagine making solar panels harder to access or more expensive before we even have enough local production to meet demand.

I understand the idea of producing things locally. Nobody wants Nigeria to depend on imports forever. We need local industries, jobs and technology. But shouldn't we first build the capacity to produce these things at a price ordinary Nigerians can afford?

Thankfully, the government has now backed away from an immediate ban and says it wants to build local manufacturing capacity first.

But this whole situation raises a question for me: why does it sometimes feel like policies are made without thinking about how they will affect the average Nigerian?

Ask Naija What are your biggest headaches when booking a shortlet or apartment in Nigeria?

Hey guys,

I want to hear about your experiences—and horror stories—when trying to rent a shortlet or short-term apartment in Nigeria (Lagos, Abuja, PH, etc.).

  • What are the biggest issues you run into with hosts, agents, or platforms?
  • What makes you distrust a listing the most?
  • What are your absolute non-negotiable amenities that places always seem to mess up? (Electricity, Wi-Fi, security, etc.)

Discussion Affordable clinical Master's programs in Dentistry abroad

Hello everyone! I'm looking for recommendations for affordable clinical postgraduate programs in dentistry on behalf of someone I know.

She's a Nigerian dentist who completed her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) in the Philippines. She returned to her home country, where she completed the licensing process and internship and NYSC. She now has approximately two years of post-graduate clinical experience.

She's interested in pursuing a clinical master's in dentistry, but these programs aren't currently available where she lives. Considering personal circumstances and a tight budget, the options are minimal.

I'm hoping to find affordable clinical master's programs in Nigeria or other countries that she might not know about. I'm especially interested in programs that offer relatively low tuition fees, scholarships, stipends, or other financial assistance to international students.

I'd love to hear from dentists who have pursued postgraduate training abroad or know of programs in countries that may not be the usual destinations people consider.

I'm open to recommendations from anywhere in the world, not just the UK, US, Canada, or Australia.

Any specific university names, program recommendations, or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I wish heaven and hell were real but those ones too are just fantasy, assuming the were real at least these apc bastards would suffer eternally but nothing like that.

All you APC semen guzzlers are very stupid honestly. I want to say much harsher things, but I don't want Reddit to ban me.

Ask Naija How Do You Manage Your Money & Payments?

Hey everyone! 👋

I’m trying to understand how people manage their money and handle everyday payments in Nigeria.

I’m interested in learning about the little things that can make managing money easier or more frustrating, whether it’s keeping track of expenses, sending money between bank accounts, splitting bills with friends, or paying for things in different situations.

I’ve put together a short survey to hear about people's real experiences and habits. Your responses would help me better understand what people actually need, rather than make assumptions.

If you have a few minutes, I’d really appreciate your input!

Take the survey here: https://forms.gle/c5UVfoBYP2K2LZVaA

Thanks to everyone who participates! 🙏

Ask Naija Am I the only one mildly irritated by the endless “Nigerian” apps and games?

In the past few days, any time I come on Reddit, there’s a new app being advertised on this sub. It’s cool we’re using the new technology to our advantage, but you guys, chill out for a second. You guys were not this productive until AI became a thing. Now it’s everywhere. If people are playing the other 599 games that have been posted, where’s the time to play yours?

I’m just saying, it’s almost like POS stands, shawarma joints, makeup artists, or anything else that one person starts and everyone copies and starts doing in Nigeria. No original thoughts in our collective heads. We too like to copy.

I’m not saying it’s a bad thing, just painfully obvious and a little bit irritating. But I understand, ultimately, money must be made somehow.

The tiktok is already at thousands of likes and hundreds of comments and according to the comments they are other videos displaying as such.

This is how the plight of the kidnapped is being buried. We see misinformation, then debate, and by the end of the day everyone's forgotten that there are people kidnapped in the forests with nothing to eat. And in the end, we don't know what they're gonna do to these people.

Discussion Just a thought

Elon Musk net worth is more than the combined GDP of the 20 leading economies in Africa, Nigeria included.

Yes its not cash in his pocket and at least he has things to show how he got his wealth as against Nigeria rich men that only have politics to show as their past source of income.

Melinda and Bill Gates foundation have donated approximately $50 billion over the past 10 years. Meanwhile total world population is 8.3 billion. Yet world hunger, poverty etc remains. And they are not the only ones donating. Estimated US charitable donations 2025 was $617.2 billion.

Makes you ask, where did all that money go?

Discussion Looking for a video editor

I’m looking for a reliable video editor based in naija. You’ll be sent 7 short videos (1 - 3 minutes each) to edit per week. It’s nothing special if you can edit a typical TikTok clip or Instagram reel (with effects, captions, etc). You don’t need to be an adobe or davinci pro either. A CapCut pro subscription will be provided for you to work painlessly with (unless you have and prefer your own tools that deliver similar or better quality). Once you’ve received the raw videos, you’ll have 48hrs to edit and turn them in.

The starting pay is 80,000 naira per month but you can be paid every 2 weeks if you prefer that. If you’re interested, please DM me precisely with a few samples of your work. Send direct links I can one-click to watch only. I will send you 2 short videos (indoor and outdoor) to color grade and edit, so we can figure out quickly if your style approach is a fit for my expectations. You start immediately if it is. A contract will be sent to you.

Would love to find someone I can work with long-term, and it doesn’t matter if you’re a university student. All that matters is that you’ll deliver consistently and on time.

Side note, I have long form projects coming up in a few months, so if we work well together over the short form content, then we’ll naturally be in business for the long form ones, once we’ve established a stable workflow.

Please do not dm me ads for AI content automation platforms. I’m aware of some of the best automation tools already and will not be using them.

Mod note: This is a repost with added info and for visibility, not spam please. Thanks
