General So no more coastal road??

The road that led to the destruction of a number of beaches, the road that APC idiots were carrying on their heads as the epitome of development is now no longer viable. Mind you, the work they've done so far, the road is sub par!!!. I frequent that area a lot and that road is abysmal for the money reportedly poured into it.

I genuinely don't know whether to find this amusing or appalling, Nigeria as a country is just ragebait honestly 🫩. Trillions of Naira gone like that!!!

It was never intended to be completed. It was a Special purpose Vehicle to Loot Billions and Open up access for Timubu properties in that area.

You should look into the owner of the company that got the contract and his connection to tinubu, it was just a sham the whole way, easy to to rob Nigerians of their money and pocket it amongst friends in the elite circle

Meanwhile that reporter that asked that Minister questions was being dragged because she was trying to get an answer out of him. Everyone involved in this will find their place in the devil's ass crack

u/Arcticmutt Nigerian 1d ago

The road has been turned to inland road, apparently they "discovered" pipelines which makes it going to Calabar impossible

Not true and tiktoker isn't a real source

They're adding the easy west road repair to the construction

are you purposely dumb?

u/abeebola 16h ago

The fact that you confidently attacked someone on the internet with an insult while basing your opinion on a factually incorrect tiktok video says more about you. What else can one expect from an Obidient?

u/rizchi Abia 12h ago

Lol it's not about being an obedient. Wake up and smell the coffee mate.. learn to call a spade a spade.. in time it will be well with you.

Wrong! What do you mean adding the east west road repair? They are connecting the road to the East West highway (that was not the original plan) That's what Umahi said. Tiktok is not a real source but your Reddit post is. It is a scam! It has always been a scam!

He's doing it for free, if you can even imagine that. Just when you think these skidmarks couldn't go any lower, they open a trap door.

More context please, I still see construction workers on it, what happened?

They said the road will bend inland and meet the existing east-west road. So the coastal road pretty much stops at Ogun State. The billions allocated have entered voicemail.

Think of it like you contracted someone to build a new 5 bedroom house on adjoining land to where you currently house sit. They collect the total money, built a bedroom and toilet. They commissioned the project and when you asked about the rest of the house, they then built a long corridor to your current house and said ā€œthat’s a better optionā€

u/Original-Ad4399 21h ago

The billions allocated have entered voicemail.

But this isn't true na. The money for the coastal road was section by section. So, it's not the entirety of the 15 trillion that has been allocated. Just like 2 to 3 billion for that portion of the road...

Shouldn't we be happy? That we're no longer wasting 15 trillion on that nonsense.

If you think they haven’t drawn the full money, I have a bridge to sell you

2

u/rizchi Abia 12h ago

Add my airport too

1

u/abeebola 16h ago

This doesn't even make any sense. Drawn the full money from where? Do you even have any idea how the financing for this project works or you're only interested in anti-Tinubu propaganda?

FAKE NEWS (as usual during campaign season). The minister, Umahi, has been very clear, and reiterated the government’s commitment to the (LEGACY ROADS). Spoilers know that the road will be like 3rd Mainland Bridge is, to Babangida, so, they spread lies to discredit the road. They can see a lot of progress on the road and can not ā€œacceptā€that it will come life. It’ll be monumental, a great achievement that they can not stomach.
Don’t believe this fake news, it is a big fat lie

u/abeebola 16h ago

Look at all the dumb comments here based on a tiktok video that is factually incorrect. Is there really hope for this country? šŸ¤¦šŸ½ā€ā™‚ļø

With you in it, I highly doubt it

-2

u/abeebola 15h ago

I know this was supposed to be a smart response but unfortunately it's not. The irony is striking.

u/Bazanji4 23h ago

They said: on a technical ground, it won't make engineering sense to continue the construction on the initial mapped corridors, hence the reason for moving it inland. Doesn't make it non viable.

We've seen a lot of projects that got stopped on its tracks because of reasons like this, but this will continue as they summissed. You just have to give them the benefit of the doubt. No need jumping on this to criticize the government.

I can't believe I'm not using this as a conduit to hold the government by the balls as I always do. It's good to be rational about issues I guess.

13

u/lifebroth 23h ago

When people said the project wasn’t viable initially, they were called wailers.
When people asked for the EIA report done for the project, they were insulted and called wailers.

APC and their data boys were counting the coastal road as an achievement and bragging that it would be a life-changing project.

Now that it has been exposed as a colossal failure, you are saying ā€œgive them the benefit of the doubtā€. It’s either you aren’t wise to see they have eaten the money or you don’t care that you are paying taxes to these fools.

1

u/Bazanji4 18h ago

Well, drawing conclusions without accurate evidence is what fools do.

8

u/No-World1940 23h ago

That's an excuse. Multiple projects have happened concurrently in Lagos so they should know what to expect by now. For a project as big as this, why wasn't an Impact assessment done prior to breaking ground? An Arise News journalist called them out on it years ago but people accused her of being negative.Ā

u/Imaginary-Title-1750 19h ago

Common sense tells you that before any road is built, the surrounding areas are scanned and checked for things like this.

-6

u/National-Ad-7271 Ekiti 23h ago

Not true they're just adding the easy wets road to the construction they're doing both now

-10

u/InsightAR 1d ago

Campaign season lies I see

7

u/Arcticmutt Nigerian 1d ago

Either you are a fool or you are a bot

1

u/InsightAR 1d ago

So explain yourself, why are you lying?

7

u/Arcticmutt Nigerian 1d ago

I don't explain myself to brainless parasites

3

u/InsightAR 23h ago

You made up a lie that could be easily verified, but I’m the brainless one lol

-7

u/National-Ad-7271 Ekiti 23h ago

Then he linked a tiktoker as the source lol

These are the same ppl that said Tinubu is both dying, and mentally dead and that he would croak before he completed his first term
