Note to the 'House of Princeton' and an alternative Nietzsche space

/r/TheFreeSpirits/comments/1x3qhxh/note_to_the_house_of_princeton_rnietzsche/?share_id=MTA3FlAc-phalrqUxTZuS&utm_content=share_button&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_source=share&utm_term=1

Many people have become disillusioned for one reason or another with this sub. u/fleur_de_lit and many such fellow travelers have vocalized something off, something Christian, something dogmatic about this ought-to-be spirited place.

So, another one looms, free for those of serious mind and body to view and pass through.

Let me stress this sub has been incredible, and many immeasurable conversations have blossomed into new worlds and understandings. However, it is time to shed our skin and, in so doing, give homage to the size we were.

Cheers.

This sub low-key sucks, sure, but that intro isn't all too promising either. /Shrug

What would you recommend? And—how so? Genuinely curious; would appreciate your opinion.

Start with the irony of trying to cop Ns style, work your way to the equally ironic counter-kauffman rhetoric, then to the further irony of "total excommunication" (hint, total excommunication is impossible in the Nietzschean framework bc he is a [anti-hegelian] dialectician) and you find the post isn't even shallow. How is it going to motivate people to join for serious discussion when the post itself is unserious towards that end? Seems to fit the vibe of a circlejerk sub.

This is fine. We have differing modes of "seriousness", and clearly, a certain rhetorical flare does not speak to you as motivating; that is okay. But, crucially, what do you mean by "serious"?

"then to the further irony of "total excommunication" (hint, total excommunication is impossible in the Nietzschean framework bc he is a [anti-hegelian] dialectician) and you find the post isn't even shallow. "

I wasn't communicating philosophically; if anything, I was expressing the concomitant set of emotions that may befall one very much intimate with the literature in question, only to be destroyed by the self-evidently "uninspiring" community devoted to that very literature—apparently, we agree here if your inital comment was any indication.

As an aside, I am curious in what sense you denote "excommunication" (is it outside the conventional use-meaning? or equivalent to it?) and its incomensurability with a supposed Nietzschean framework?

You haven't answered the original request.

EDIT: by answering the additional questions I've put here, we can move in an altogether productive direction that addresses the original request. I'd appreciate that.

To help you along, you've noted the "intro". I think you think employing the term, "irony" can play a 'delegitimizating' function, I think, to be precise, we should avoid that track of discussion.
