Get Ready Crystal remixes?

I’ve always loved New Order, and recently I’ve come back around to Crystal and remembered what an absolute genius track it is.

One of my favorite parts is the outro — that little piano figure with the syncopated drum groove underneath it. It almost feels like a tiny bit of hip-hop/breakbeat sneaking into a New Order track, and I love it. I just wish that section went on longer.

Does anyone know if there’s a remix, alternate mix, demo, live version, etc. that highlights or extends that part of the song? I’ve seen that there are quite a few Crystal remixes, but I’m specifically looking for something that preserves or develops that outro rather than completely reworking the song into a club mix.

First post here, so apologies if this has been discussed before or there’s somewhere obvious I should be looking. Thanks!

Movement New Order have shaped everything I've written musically. Here's my cover of "Dreams Never End"

I've been a New Order fan for as long as I can remember. My parents are huge fans, and my mum reckons I was listening to them before I was even born. I spoke about my love of Ceremony for my GCSE Speaking & Listening exam, and I'm currently toying with the idea of getting a New Order tattoo (possibly the VERITAS dog from the Ceremony sleeve).

One of my proudest musical moments came a few years ago, when my band played a gig and a couple of middle-aged blokes in the audience remarked, "It's just New Order." I don't think I've ever received a better compliment.

I've been writing and recording my own music since I was about 16, gradually getting better at it (I hope). Age of Consent is the song I've always aspired to write, though I've inevitably fallen well short. I've had a few different musical projects over the years, but that distinctive interplay between guitars and synths always seems to find its way into whatever I do.

Anyway, today I thought I'd share my cover of Dreams Never End, which I've recorded, performed and produced entirely myself. I hope it's alright to post it here, and I'd love to hear what fellow New Order fans think.

If you enjoy it, I'd be really grateful if you checked out some of my original music too. There's plenty of New Order DNA running through it, particularly in my main project:

Cheers for listening!

Question Subculture

Question for all my fellow new order fans out there, why do a lot of you guys hate the substance/john Robie version of subculture. For me it’s in my top 5 favorite new order songs. I’ve just never been a big fan of the low life version of the song, the substance version was the first version of the song I listened to so that could have something to do with it. I’d love to hear your thoughts!

General Your favorite and least favorite songs on each New Order album

If there is one thing I have learned over the years it is that there is no "typical" New Order fan. People have wildly different opinions on specific albums and songs and (nearly) all are valid. 😁
So don't be too serious about this.

I'd love to hear your picks and why you chose them. Here are mine:

Movement

Favorite: Dreams Never End. The perfect opener to the album and the band as whole.

Least Favorite: None. I love all of them equally.

PCL

Favorite: Your Silent Face and it's not even close.

Least Favorite: Age of Consent. Maybe it's overexposure but I can't stand it anymore.

Low-Life

Favorite: The Perfect Kiss is possibly the best song of the band and truly unique.

Least Favorite: Sub-Culture is an absolute stinker and each version sucks in different ways.

Brotherhood

Favorite: Paradise. Dark, brooding, driven and just slightly sinister. Love it.

Least Favorite: As It Is When It Was. Not a bad song, just kinda mediocre for me.

Technique

Favorite: Dream Attack is my favorite song of all time. Pure magic.

Least Favorite: Fine Time. I really, really don't like this song. It's weird and off-putting and in my opinion a very bad opener to the album. Sticks out like a sore thumb.

Republic

Favorite: World. Pure bittersweet melancholy.

Least Favorite: Spooky just kinda sucks and treads along. Weird song.

Get Ready

Favorite: Crystal is probably in the top 10 of their entire song catalogue and quite deservedly so.

Least Favorite: Rock the Shack really sticks out in a negative way on this album.

WFTSC

Favorite: Who's Joe? I guess it's obscure compared to Krafty but something about this song just works for me.

Least Favorite: Jetstream is a song that I really dislike but Working Overtime is probably objectively worse.

Lost Sirens

Favorite: Hellbent is the one song on this album that is serviceable.

Least Favorite: Sugarcane. The less said the better. Doesn't feel like New Order at all. I don't get tired of ranting about how criminally bad this album of leftovers is.

Music Complete

Favorite: Plastic is a far cry from their golden days but still a very good synth-heavy song.

Least Favorite: The Game could be amazing but those long, repetitive vocal parts really drag it down.

Hi There

So what’s your thoughts on 1981-1982 ep?

Been rediscovering New Order again and came from Movement which is an excellent album from an band rising from the ashes of Joy Division into an band with an similar JD sound but it’s so much more complex and electronic so now I’m on 1981-1982!:)

Just 5 tracks(first 3 were produced by Hannett) and they are all great tracks(love Procession,Temptation, and Hurt) so just 5 great tracks on here with an amazing cover done by Peter Saville ofc!
