Advice What's your opinion on HBL Share now?

• Upvotes

I hold certain units of HBL and it's Wacc is 221.57.

Should I accumulate more of it. Or hold still or sell to do stop loss or should I approach this as a long-term capital-preservation decision first, and a growth opportunity second.

Online/TMS Order book on TMS lags behind broker-provided feeds. Any way to get live updates?

• Upvotes

The market depth on my broker’s platform updates instantaneously, but the order book on the official TMS website refreshes with a noticeable delay or needs a manual reload. For anyone trying to build a position on an actively trading scrip, that lag makes it hard to read order flow in real time.

Has anyone found a way to get TMS depth to auto-refresh, whether through a browser extension, a userscript, or a setting I’m missing? I’m also curious whether the broker’s feed is pulling from a different data source altogether.

This matters more as NEPSE looks to introduce instruments like short selling. The platform will need to handle far more demanding, higher-frequency use than it does today.

Fundamental Analysis Looking for Feedback - Due Diligence Reports

I assume company due diligence is one of the missing artifacts in NEPSE market.

In-depth DD takes a lot of time and effort, which I can do in the future, but for now I want to validate if investors are even looking for it. For now, I have leveraged AI to generate basic DD so it will give idea how it will look like.

link to video: https://youtu.be/2U9rRQ8Cduc

Your feedback on below will be highly appreciated:
- whether creating such DD reports are worth it, specially if my goal is to have paid subscriber
- content wise, how do you rate out of 10?

I would be open for a separate discussion if anyone is interested.

Market Prabhu Mutual funds new stock addition

I think we all agree that Prabhu ko fund does well than NIMB NICA LAXMI, NABIL haru.

So I have been closely following mutual funds, especially Prabhu ko, they had Added API significantly around 200-240 ko range ma, full 7-8% of NAV , same with EBL 500-550 ko range ma.

Ahile recently they picked up TAMOR ma concentrated position, Upto 8-9% of NAV . Feri aru Mutual funds haru le khasai kineko dekhdina .

I'm reckoning yetro position Lina kei ramrai research gareko chan hola, will be interesting to see how this fiscal year plays out Ani yo bet kasari play out Huncha, maybe aru funds are way to smart not to put any money here or Prabhu probably has found another multibagger.

Market To sound smart in market go for fear mongering.

Far more money has been lost by investors preparing for corrections, or trying to anticipate corrections, than has been lost in corrections themselves - Peter Lynch.

Most people are inherently pessimists, and every small news they link it upto lah ava bajar ajhai jharcha. Esari they tend to spread fear aru ma by posting Ani as a result they start to believe their own lie Ani affu le ni under allocate hanchan. As a result they have more medicore return than mutual funds.

As Nat Friedman says, "Pessimists sound smart. Optimists make money."

Do you wanna sound smart or make money?

Economy What is the difference between loan rescheduling and loan restructuring as per NRB?

What I am missing to understand is that, does loan rescheduling only changes the loan payment period, installment period, tenure only. Or does it change the interest rate as well?

Mutual Funds SIP in Nepal? Are people investing because they understand the product, or simply because everyone else is doing it?

I believe SIPs in Nepal are gaining popularity, but I wonder how many people actually understand how they work. Many seem to invest believing that their money will automatically double or triple over time, without realizing that returns are not guaranteed. Some even confuse SIP with a fixed-deposit scheme, expecting fixed returns like interest.

Another thing I've noticed is that some people invest for just 5–6 months and then redeem their investments without properly evaluating whether they've made a gain or a loss. SIP is generally intended for disciplined, long-term investing, not quick profits.

I’m not saying people should be afraid of investing in the market. Instead, they should research the fund, understand the risks, set realistic expectations, and be patient. Short-term losses are possible, and even long-term investments aren't guaranteed to generate positive returns.

I also feel that the growing popularity of open-ended mutual funds and SIPs in Nepal may be partly driven by marketing.

I'd love to hear what others think. Are financial literacy and proper research keeping pace with the growing popularity of SIPs in Nepal?

Also people need to understand that SIP should not be easily withdrawn ...it should be invested for longer period of time and it's a hassle if you want to redeem you invested money especially with NIMB and some other stocks....however recently recently introduced SIP of Prabhu is really easy to handle....

Market Bought Nabil Bank shares at Rs. 537.2, but my broker says I need to deposit Rs. 5,41.5 Why?

Hi everyone,

I recently bought Nabil Bank (NABIL) shares at Rs. 537.2 per share, but I received a message from my broker asking me to deposit an additional Rs. 5,415.

I'm a beginner in the stock market, so I'm confused about why I need to deposit this amount.

  • Is this amount for the share purchase, broker commission, SEBON fees, DP charges, or something else?
  • How can I calculate the total amount I need to pay?

Has anyone experienced this before? I'd appreciate it if someone could explain it simply.

Thank you!

Misc Nepse vs s&p 500 rupee depreciation adjusted annual return (4.3 percent vs 9 percent)

so we can’t invest abroad, earn a lot less and we also get much worse returns after accounting for rupee depreciation. People in us would have gotten 5.5x times investment in past 20 years while we get just 2.35x. even fd is a joke now with 3-4 percent interest rate. us treasury batai 5.3 percent aairahekocha. people in us can just put their savings in usd bonds and treasury and beat risky stock investments in Nepse

Technical Analysis Share your NEPSE charts: how do you read them?

Would you share your technical charts on NEPSE?

I'm mostly interested in learning different techniques and seeing how most people chart: which indicators you rely on, what timeframes you use, and how you mark support and resistance.

Even a simple screenshot with a short note on your reasoning would be great. Looking forward to learning from everyone.

I'd love to see your setups, indicators, and timeframes, and learn how others approach technical analysis here.
