Im pretty sure his kick was going in. Blame the blocking and the worst Special teams coach in the league

Bubba was awful last year. I’m a browns fan so I saw that wonderment in action

I miss John "Bones" Fassel

u/Hawaiian_Pineapple_ 1h ago

Me too, he was great for the Cowboys 😔

u/HashtagCHIIIIOPSS Los Angeles Rams 6m ago

Hekker + Fassel was awesome

9

u/V-Right_In_2-V Arizona Cardinals 1h ago

It almost went in even after getting blocked. That was definitely not his fault

1

u/BigBallsMcGee1105 5m ago

I disagree that ball was headed wide left

0

u/KindlyCharge6748 New York Giants 1h ago

Ts was going anywhere but in. The block might have actually put it on target

u/RaddTyrant 2h ago

Nah, not going for the TD and playing conservative on that last drive. Offense was rolling and you put the game in Special Teams hands is a weird coaching call.

Either way it was a great game.

Yep, makes no sense to stall your offense that had been on fire when you were on the edge of your kicker's range. It forces the kicker to kick at a lower angle for distance increasing the chance it gets tipped. Kick likely would have gone in too if it wasn't tipped.

It on the blocker cause that kick look good if not for it being partially block

u/slayerrr21 Chicago Bears 1h ago

The blocker had two guys he had to block, tough all around

16

u/HolographicHeart Jacksonville Jaguars 2h ago

Tinfoil hat theory is that McVay just hates this guy for eating all the break room donuts so he went for ritualistic humiliation instead of trusting his Future HoF QB and unguardable WR.

I pray this man doesn't have social media

7

u/Jznvh The purple team that’s bad 1h ago

why? he didn't miss the kick , it got blocked . y'all are casuals

8

u/Square-Newspaper8171 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1h ago

Because people are gonna blame him regardless

3

u/No_Entertainer_5163 Kansas City Chiefs 1h ago

Well, anyone that blames the kicker for this doesn’t really have a functional brain, so can you really take them seriously?

u/Lilreddd_xx_ San Fresco Subastaion 11m ago

That is all the rams

7

u/UnusualPieceOfGum 2h ago

The kick was fine it got touched my guy jesus. Why everyone got to hate the fat man lmao

2

u/BigHotdog2009 Buffalo Bills 1h ago

Because it’s easier to point the finger at the guy who “missed” instead of the blocking unit that allowed it to get blocked in the first place.

Kick was gonna be good if it wasn’t blocked. Just poor blocking and a great play by Groot.

u/According-Activity87 Houston Texans 2h ago

Why? Is it because he is fat? The kick was probably going to be good before it was tipped. McVay has been doing dumb things throughout this whole season. The end of that last drive was handled like crap. He should have let Stafford and his array of weapons finish the job they started. Anyone who blames the kicker here doesn't know ball at all.

u/Dizzy_Researcher7272 1h ago

I got nothing on him specifically or anything cus hes fat, people see hes the face of the special teams personnel so of course they are gonna put it on him, check rams subreddit

3

u/According-Activity87 Houston Texans 1h ago edited 1h ago

It they are roasting this guy in their subreddit, then they're just a bunch of fools. He did his job. This situation was clearly a failure of coaching.

5

u/Jznvh The purple team that’s bad 1h ago

casuals blame the kicker on a blocked kick, y'all are actually idiots lmao

3

u/desert-cheese04 Green Bay Packers 1h ago

This

2

u/suddenly-scrooge Seattle Seahawks 1h ago

blocked kicks can definitely be on the kicker but i'm not sure this one was, the blocker had a shifty move to get inside and then had a good jump

3

u/TheOptimist6 Baltimore Ravens 2h ago

People just being fatphobic for no reason.

Not his fault the o line sold and didn’t do their blocking assignments

2

u/Excellent-Tip4941 1h ago

No one’s being fatphobic when like half the NFL is “fat” but it’s just extremely odd to see a chubby kicker so obviously gonna be a talking point

3

u/LeftyGroves Kansas City Chiefs 1h ago

Blame the dudes that put one hand on the 6’6 270 lb guy

3

u/Yah_Mule Denver Broncos 1h ago

The Rams are like that Secret Base video about the 2010 Chargers.

2

u/Mcdona1dsSprite 2h ago

Fat kicker sold

3

u/musipal San Francisco 49ers 1h ago

The ot kick barely missed, blame the blocking.

1

u/Huh-what-2025 2h ago

1

u/iAmElmo69 Detroit Lions 2h ago

b-but rams fans told us that all of their special teams problems were fixed!

2

u/Substantial_Pop3104 Los Angeles Rams 1h ago

Literally nobody said that. No ST moves were made that would even make this believable.

1

u/no_racist_here Pittsburgh Steelers 2h ago

Rams “Nation”? Are we sure a campground could be even fully occupied by their fans?

1

u/Early_Doughnut8295 1h ago

He didn't block his own kick! Go Bills!!

1

u/Yah_Mule Denver Broncos 1h ago

Way to kick it straight at the tallest guy in the building, you fuggen momo.

1

u/Pocket_Sevens Bills 1h ago

Lowk results oriented in the commentd. Miss on fourth down "why don't you let your let your kicker redeem himself". Kick just got blocked whaddya gonna do

1

u/BigHotdog2009 Buffalo Bills 1h ago

I mean he’s gonna get hate but the kick was gonna be good. Just poor blocking and insane play from Groot.

1

u/Curse06 Buffalo Bills 1h ago

Why exactly would he be yall enemy? Greg Rousseau made a play.

1

u/desert-cheese04 Green Bay Packers 1h ago

Not sure what he could’ve done different there.

1

u/Rich_Percentage_8506 New England Patriots 1h ago

Not this guys fault.

1

u/TheDufusSquad New England Patriots 1h ago

Blame the kicker all you want, the defense let up 37 points and Josh Allen only completed 12 passes.

1

u/123abcde321 1h ago

Anyone notice if his planted foot moved? Thought he lost his balance ever so slightly.

1

u/bargman Now Here’s a Guy 1h ago

He didn't let Rousseau by.

1

u/Michaewwwwl 49m ago

Was the blocked kick his fault?

1

u/DueceVoyeur 18-1 42m ago

I believe he was sucking wind walking out to kick. Needs to do some laps and not be chunky

1

u/hereforthesportsball Dallas Cowboys 25m ago
