NASA NASA Space Apps Challenge Megathread
READ THIS BEFORE POSTING
DO NOT POST REPLIES TO EVERY COMMENT IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO JOIN OR HOST A TEAM, THE MODS WILL REMOVE ALL OF THEM.
Please use this megathread for any discussions about the NASA Space Apps Challenge. There have been a number of posts looking for team members and the mods felt that if we consolidated all requests to a single post it will have more visibility. We will leave the ones already posted open, but anything new needs to use this post. You can respond to one comment or you can DM individuals, but posting the same comment multiple times is considered spamming.
For visibility, here are the existing posts that we're aware of. If we missed yours, please comment here and we'll add it to the list.

ShowMeSunday FB marketplace Nasa Find
So I found this on FB marketplace with a bunch of stuff from Notre Dame. Figured I'd share that there was planning and designs for the skylab, some other stuff as well, and I think that photo book is possibly tied to challenger but Im not totally sure so any advice would be welcomed.

ShowMeSunday Vintage Apollo 11 photos
I found these old framed photos at a thrift store many years ago. They were framed in Birmingham, AL in a shop that closed in the 90’s. They appear to have red numbers bleeding through the back. I’m afraid to open them! Any advice on where to take them to have them looked at or reframed?

Article NASA plans radar and seismic tests for a hidden lunar cave that could shelter future astronauts
A hole in the Moon’s volcanic terrain may lead to a much larger space hidden beneath the surface. NASA has selected an investigation to find out whether that underground space exists, and how large it might be.
The Planetary Science Institute will lead the project, called Geophysical Instruments for Marius Lunar pit Investigation, or GIMLI. Its target is the Marius Hills Pit, a possible entrance to a lava tube left by ancient volcanic activity.
The investigation will combine radar, seismic measurements, gravity readings and cameras. Together, those instruments could turn an intriguing opening seen from orbit into a clearer picture of the surrounding subsurface.
That picture matters for geology and future exploration. A substantial cave could provide natural shielding from radiation, micrometeoroids and extreme surface temperatures, although the selected project has not yet confirmed one.

Question Could it be possible for NASA's Dragonfly to visit Huygens as an extended mission?
I'm asking because unlike rovers on Mars barely scraping a few dozen km, Dragonfly will fly a lot faster and farther after landing in 2034, in what memory serves me, not too far from Huygens (hundreds of km?). Also, it would be nice to see how ~30 years of Titan's environment would affect an old probe, making the first unmanned mission to visit another on a different world. Is it theoretically possible?

NASA NASA has a tool that shows you what the Hubble Space Telescope saw on your birthday (or any other day, really)
Each day has 5 images. What did you get? My favorite one from my birthday is of Jupiter and it's moon Io.

Question JSC tour recommendations for a GSFC employee?
Are there discounts for entry into the space center for badged employees from another center (like the 50% discount at KSC)?
Any tours or things to experience or keep an eye out for?
I'll be going with family who will not be badged, is it worth a NAMS request for access to the center? (I'll probably still need some tour guide to show me around so I'd suppose not).
I'll also take any food recommendations or any general recommendations in the area, I'll be in Houston for the weekend :)

Question How many Roman space telescope pixels are up for claim?
How many pixels are available for claim in the Roman space telescope first image? I saw NASA posted a claim your pixel activity for the new Roman telescope image, hopefully coming 2027, there’s a live claimed # counter but I can’t find how many are available in total. I keep seeing the term 300 megapixel thrown around but that doesn’t mean much to a layperson like me.

Question What is the actual time Crew-12 is undocking?...NASA keeps changing it.
For real they keep changing the times! Yesterday I read something that said they would be undocking at 1:07 am EDT, then tonight on I read on the official nasa dot gov website:
NASA will begin it's live coverage of Crew-12's return at 6:00 am as they enter Dragon and close the hatch at around 6:20 am. Dragon will undock from the Harmony module's space-facing port at 8:05 am EDT on Wednesday.
but now the NASA livestream on YouTube for the hatch closing is scheduled for 9:00 am and undocking is scheduled for 10:45 am. I don't want to miss it but wow they keep switching it up on us, it's making it hard to follow!
EDIT: they switched it again in the middle of the night. While the youtube livestream was scheduled for 9 am, they changed the hatch closing back to 6 am and the undocking to around 8:30 am. I missed both of them live because of that. Thanks a lot NASA, you're a bunch of disorganized Kerbals lately :(
