i was working since i was 13. My first non actual full time job i was being paid crap and asked to fill extra roles and do extra work. It was in a computer parts shipping company, i made one mistake sending the wrong ram out which cost the entirety of about $6 in shipping to exchange and got reamed by 3 directors of the company despite them all making the same mistakes daily. They also failed to inform me of a new product with a literally identical product code they decided to put in the same place (same look, packaging, colour, etc) when they have a policy to tell everyone of new products especially if they look near identical and to put them in a different place.
I literally felt like I was in that office space scene having everyone give me shit for a single small mistake. I quit very soon after specifically for that reason.
unfortunately i don't think in over 20 years of working I've had a single boss who wasn't a fucking asshole.
I started at 15 also. thankfully I get pto now. I just need to learn to use it to relax a bit and not maximize travel/party time. Because half the time I need a vacation after vacation. But when else am I supposed to live?!
Delivered papers at 14. Gonna be 60 next year. I honestly think I've taken THREE actual 1 week long vacations in that time. One was when I got married. Can't even think about retiring until at least 65 when Medicare kicks in because otherwise it will be like $1500 a month for healthcare insurance alone. I have a heart condition so I can't even just go walk off into the woods, build a cabin and live with the wolves anymore without my medications.
