No wonder he was running around terrified. Legend has it a world famous Hawk likes to hang around skateparks.

He was in the neighborhood that I grew up in last month in Denver and he left an autographed skateboard in the park and posted it online for the first person to come get it.

The park was less than half mile from the house I lived in for 40 years. I just sold it and moved 2 years ago so I didn't have a chance!

good human for saving it, raised several of bunnies, i thought OP in the video knew the magic move once it was tuckered out, pet nose to base of ears, just keep doing it and they will calm down, it almost hypnotizes them, i was thinking that was the move to get it calm to pick it up and move it...

but you know, rabbits hate 1 thing more than anything else, and that's being picked up. being a prey animal and hawks and all.. but if you have to pick one up, do it like a football, don't dangle legs, put the feet on your arm so they think they're still on the ground and they will be far less freaked out, if you put them face towards your elbow a lot of times they'll just hide their eyes and you can carry them around for quite a while.

He would have had an easier time if he had put down the camera and used two hands

Farming likes/upvotes was more important than the animals' well-being.

A bunch of self-absorbed superficial idiots, our species has become.

I hate to be the bringer of bad news but that bunny didnt get comfortable around him, probably got tired and was accepting its fate. They do not and cannot perceive kindness. We are a threat and potential predator, its in their genetic code to fear anything larger than them.

In this case, I agree that it probably just ran out of energy (although usually they'll still bite), but there are lots of rabbits where I live, and they do actually just get used to me after a while if I'm outside.
They'll run away at first, but then if I'm just hanging out for a while, not bothering it, they'll come back out and just go about their business.

Threat detection: Harmless Stoner. Proceed with protocol 'chew on stick'. Move three hops left, scan. All quiet in delta quadrant, too quiet.

Whoa whoa whoa, I'm not a stoner. I'm just a drunk.

This is something that made people smile so let me ruin it by bringing it back down about perceived kindness the video wasn't for the rabbit it was for us. And it was a kind act who cares how the rabbit perceived it.

Yes, AND, this video is just one example of how the built world leads to the downfall of so many wild animals. This is one positive outcome in an ocean of bad ones. Humans are terrible for the Earth and living things.

I agree with you

Then it's the best possible outcome. Rabbit is freed and still perceives humans as a threat.

Why not just put the phone down

Unfortunately bunnies and stuff can die of shock from being caught even if nothing bad happens to them...

Bro, I can see you.

NO! I AM CAMOUFLAGED!

That dude was patient af. But was anyone else expecting him to hop (heh) on the skateboard to bring bun up? I didn't realize how shallow it was until he just plopped bun on the rim.

Its so lovely and kind that he wanted to help and took the time to do it, but as a PSA for anyone who comes across something like this, it would be best to call animal control and let them humanely trap and release it. For the rabbit's sake.

Chasing around a rabbit like this can quite literally kill them, same with many bird species. Its a prey animal thing. He's still a big sweetheart for putting in the effort tho.
