So this is a very optimistic take but how else are you supposed to get through these insanely trippy times.

I can’t shake the feeling that over the past few months we are at a turning point from a pretty dark and corrupt time in politics, technology, day to day life, and we are starting to see the general masses take back control over these areas.

A few things that have me thinking this way:

the recent advancements in ai specifically the general publics use of it - reverse engineering Adobe and inevitably other scummy companies, it feels as though karma has come back round full swing and is biting these mfs in the ass, the people are regaining control over companies meaning that they have to again bow to us not the other way round, hopefully putting an end to shitty overpriced products.

The Russian bot situation, there’s no verifiable proof YET about this but it does seem anecdotally and just comparing previous engagements that (specifically the far right and other purposely controversial accounts) are seeing a big reduction in engagements. Even if it turns out to be a false claim, the fact people are this aware to not farms and the harm they are inflicting on society is a really positive thing, awareness to these things are key and I have no doubt with the advancements we are seeing from the people with these new tech tools, we will start seeing a more concerted effort to get these farms down, hopefully causing a big shift in culture and a return to more human focused issues and discourse.

General politics, it seems as though global politics shifted sharply to the right with a single talking point in most countries, it’s started to feel as though it’s past its peak now and hasn’t fulfilled what people hoped it would in their lives, I hope that America has lead by example in this and proven that voting based on hatred is far less effective and short term then voting based on hope.

Along with this just the general attitudes I’m seeing towards information and disinformations seems to be rebalancing itself? Feels like we have been suffocated in the past half decade since Covid with an array of disinformation and normalising pretty radical views, but people are starting to realise just how deep it’s gone and the reaction is starting to flip.

Bit of a ramble but I think it’s important to keep optimistic even though it’s pretty hard, I’ve just noticed a few things in my orbit that seem to be changing for the better, even down to misinformation on climate change which has started to reverse. Maybe this should of been on hope core 🤣

They already had a near monopoly on both browser and search engine back then but they wanted to secure it so they had those memes spread on Reddit. All it took was a few artificial memes like that forced onto the algorithm and eventually it became organic and self sustaining.

The title is pretty much it. When I get a marketing text message I typically reply STOP to get them to stop, and it typically does but I hate it every time.

I feel if you reply with STOP they take you off their list. But then they know your phone number is a real one. They then sell that number to another company so they make a quick buck and the next company knows they have a real number to harass. Pure capitalistic evil.
