These bits would kill if she was still a kid (and maybe even a little bit as a teen) but she’s closer to 30 now and they’re just unbearable. We get it: she can’t write lyrics, she can’t play the piano, and she can’t sing. The bit is that she lacks talent for the things she’s doing in a “cringe” or “ironic” way.

The jokes are funny, but she’s not Andy Kaufman level weird nor does she have the charisma of someone like Sarah Sherman to make it work. Maybe Lorne or her Mom likes it, but it’s excruciating to sit through and does her no favors. I started out as a hater, but I see her worth now in the second half of this season. I think there’s potential with her. Would vastly prefer a deadpan character bit in lieu of these piano bits. Or maybe an actual well written song? It’s giving “look at my cute little kid isn’t she talented?” Just truly bad and I think the reason why I didn’t care for her for so long.

Mikey Day would be perfect to parody Matt Gaetz.. just keep his eyebrows raised
