Post image

This administration of pure cruelty should no longer be normalized with “satire”, we are well past that point. this shit isn’t funny anymore.

Don't forget when they had Cecily and Sasheer do "To Sir With Love" in tribute to Obama leaving office. I love Cecily. She's in my top 10 all cast members. This might very well be the worst thing she's ever been involved with.

It was SUPER cringey and fawning and unnecessary. I don't believe any politician, no matter how popular they are, should get an ass kissing from a satirical comedy show like they did here.

Oh God both of these are just awful lol. There’s a lot of really horribly aged skits out of that era too. They went hard on the Mueller report doing anything.

That was the fucking worst. They were really huffing their own farts that week. Many of us were crushed but that was an insane choice

I think you stand on that island mostly alone. For me, it’s a comedy show. We didn’t need Paul Simon’s post-9/11 rendition of the Boxer because the election didn’t go the way we wanted. I didn’t really find it cathartic.

Yes, it's a comedy show, it's also a stage show. The performers on that stage are expressing themselves, and the writers are helping. If this is how they want to express themselves, that's what I want to see. I could care less what they're promoting or not promoting because as you said, it's a comedy show. I just want to see talented people be talented. If you think I'm standing on that island mostly alone, please refer to the tens of millions of people who enjoyed the clip on YouTube.

But no one needs them to joke about this. Like can they not write a cold open about anything besides Trump?

Kinda hard since Trump is central to political nonsense across the globe these days.

I also recall the Trump cold opens perform well on places like YouTube.

I understand why they do it. It’s not for me 🤷🏻‍♀️

Last time they did that, they decided to do another Domingo sketch…

Honestly, I preferred the cold open to when he won the second time.

It was first of all, actually funny, and it actually was pretty biting too.

That was the moment SNL jumped the shark.
