Help Upgrading 23.2 to 24 on xpeng, Do MindTheGapps update automatically via Updater?

Hi! I'm on LineageOS 23.2 with MindTheGapps 16 on my Moto G200.

If I update to LineageOS 24 using the built-in Updater, does it update MindTheGapps automatically, or do I need to manually (downloading from girhub) reboot to recovery and flash MindTheGapps 17?

The updater doesn't handle major version updates.

You have to apply the update and update MindTheGapps manually.

Go to the "Get the builds here" link under Downloads in the LOS wiki page for your device to download the LOS24 zipfile.

Then go to "Upgrade to a higher version of LineageOS (e.g. lineage-22.2 -> lineage-24.0)" link under Guides on that wiki page, and follow the instructions.

I don't think the updater will allow you to do a major upgrade, for exactly that reason.

TL;DR: No. No they do not.

Shipping multiple GApps versions per update would not be a sound decision, for at least a couple of reasons.

They stay as they are, you will only need to upgrade manually by downloading Android 17 build and using ADB. Just did it an hour ago on my Tab A7.

If you use a GApps package, and you're not a fan of exploding your installation and potentially user data, the GApps package must be updated for major version upgrades also.

There is documentation covering this for all supported devices, past or present. Use the documentation.
