Original Content Forward Toward the Future - The New Man

I tried 1930s Italian futurist style poster about ‘the new man’ which is the concept of disciplined, anti-decadent. and obedient citizen of fascist society.

This is my first time trying this kind of style so maybe not exactly super futurist but yes😶

PEAKKK, tho I do agree with the other guy saying that the monarchist coat of arms doesn't really fit

I think you got "social" mixed up with "socialist"

The Social Republic of Italy is a fascist breakaway state that existed between 1943 and 1945 and is basically fascist Italy without the monarchy (which the fascists hated but needed for legitimacy), the flag you used is social-IST which is another ideology (far left)

yeah yeah I know the Italian Social Republic or the salo republic but what I made for is the SRI which is a revolutionary country in Italy in the scenario Mussolini joins the Biennio Rosso in the alternative timeline of ‘kaiserreich’ if you have ever heard of it

OHHH makes sense, I thought this was a "what if Italy was fascist in 2026" scenario loll

The actual ISR flag was just the tricolor btw, this was the war flag

I also want to direct your attention to the cover of the Italian passport:

That's a star on a cog, crowned with a laurel on the left side and an oak branch on the right.
It's important to note however, that this is the "star of Italy" and not the socialist/communist star.

Yes but the flag used is specifi an imaginary socialist flag which you can find on google and it also misses the ramo di quercia and ramo di ulivo (no idea what they're called in English but they're two trees important to Italy) which socialists sometimes use

Ah right, is an olive branch, not a laurel.
Btw, the oak is also important to Germany, we had it on our Pfennig until the euro came.

The socialist flag features exactly that star-on-cog? That's a very socialist symbol then to still be in use today?

I wouldnt call THE socialist flag cuz it's fictional, but it features the emblem of Italy without those branches which DOES have socialist origins to some degree (it was made by partisans and many partisans were socialist) so that's prolly why it's used when making flags of a socialist Italy

Having the same fascist font at first I thought it was about Futuro Nazionale

Imaginary fascist aesthetics so accurate it gets confused with actual fascists

Instead of 2026, the date should say 103 in Roman numerals (CIII) which are the years since the Fascist Revolution (1922), which is the date model that Fascist Italy used particularly for propagana works.

yeah tbf I was just putting random shit to make the poster look better so didn't consider that part lol. Maybe as an excuse I can say this was a timeline where new constitution turning Italy fascist was introduced in 2014.

True Maybe futurist aesthetic doesnt go very well with conservative monarchists

I used adobe illustrator which is a software I use for most of my works.

As for most parts, its just text and flat elements so ig it wasn't too difficult.
For the person, I made a path by tracing a model picture, then I used gradient tool too create those shadows and lightings like below.

Other than that, I used photoshop to give the grainy effect and to edit colors a bit.

A new politician who is literally a fascist, it's main point is:

Returning every single immigrant to their country (thing which would cost us more than literally integrate them in our country)

Returning to the traditional family values (No abortion, Maschilism and obviously no LGBTQ)

Other random shit he says because they are going popular.

This could honestly pass for the real thing. Like if someone showed me this and said it was an actual poster from 1930s Italy I’d believe them.

looks pretty red flood-ish to me,but thats probably just because it's supposed to look futurist

u/Jumpstartgaming45 8d ago

Very cool! The flags missing the crown though.

2

u/ZestycloseAddition81 8d ago

Kingdom of Italy had two versions of their flag with and without the crown in which crowned version was only used for government sectors like the military.

Really? Always figured that was a mistake by modern day people. Interesting. Wonder why it wasnt uniform.
