I am someone who has been a part of most of the Student Senate elections and honestly I have seen shortcomings from both the sides the candidates side and the side of the electoral body.

Some were proven but no action, some were buried, some in which justice was served some were not served. So in short the electoral processes were hay wired. Just take for instance the GE26 the delayed results, hmm I don't know who might agree but the abuse of positions and almost no general automonomy of the electoral body pose a significant risk on the fairness of the electoral process.

Also a few days back the chairperson shared the pcr of the election commission. The formation of grc poses a genuine problem there, the lack of perspective and the lack of knowledge. Election penalties are not something you deal with without significant rational or significant knowledge.

Previously Prof. XYZ (If you skim through previous pcr's you will about whom I was talking) was part of grc for a long time. Now it's suddenly changed. A Prof. that once held the position of convener of grc is no longer the part of it. The grc seems to be biased towards hall 5 literally. Or seems like no effort was made to the grc and agrc formation.

(I mean kya ho jaayega hall bias karge bhai? konsa job mill raha isse?)

And the chairperson, who by the definitions and responsibilities mentioned in the constitution is the highest level of representation of the student body. And the precedence of nominating a chairperson to grc.

The members of the student senate have a tendency to bring the word precedence to much in their proposals and all to defend a sh*t proposal although not all proposals are bad.

Even the election commission.

See you are playing one of the dirtiest game, pichle ge main ek gensec candidate ka seconder/proposer dono main koi back off kar raha tha and this means that the number is getting reduced and this means the cancellation of nomination and the same tactic is being used in the ByeElections as well.

I understand that Navratri is a significant religious festival for many people, and I respect that. We aren't forcing anyone to eat non-veg.
However, IITK has students from diverse cultural backgrounds, and not everyone follows the same customs and traditions. So, why should the practices of one group be imposed upon everyone else?

If you believe non-veg shouldn't be served during Navratri, why do you think so?
