This weather, huh?

It’s the best small talk I’ve got for right now, you’ll have to forgive me. My brains been fried since I went cold-turkey on caffeine for the last month.

Anyways, I don’t have much to fill you in on. I’ve mostly just been a zombie going to and from work, forgetting to properly fill out my calendar so I don’t even know what day it is. At least I remember when the wedding is. Don’t forget to ask if I’ve gotten my haircut yet if we talk again before the end of the month. The groom’s gunna strangle me if I look this rough for the actual event haha.

Anyways, how have you been?

Are they boiled / could they be? Thank you

I usually either pan fry or roast them.

Oven roast or over a fire?

If it’s over a fire, I’ll gladly take some and ask my buddy to break out his grill

Usually air fry roast but grilled over a fire sounds yummy. I will drop off a bushel and then return to sample his work.

I’ve never tried a plantain. Do you normally eat them raw or is there something else you recommend?

oh no, never raw!

you wanna cut them up in thin, long oval slices, and fry them up in a pan - don't skimp on the oil! and then I like to drizzle some honey on them, but many people like to just sprinkle a bit of sugar on em

now that is not the healthiest of course, so you could boil them (after cutting them up in small chunks / thick slices), they're great this way too.

remind me to make you some the next time you come over! and bring that girl again, we didn't think she was THAT annoying ;)

I'll take some! Feel free to drop them off on my porch, the same spot as last time.

You got it, a bushel coming your way. Just keep me in mind if you come across brussel’s again.

I'm sure it would be a tax write off to donate some to the Prayer Circle. Just drop them by my house anytime.

I am not big on the prayer thing but I will drop a bushel off.

Well, we wouldn't ask you to stay!! But if you know anyone who needs prayer, tell us all about it!

Well, we've had the highest number of participants in our Ladies Intercession Prayer Circle/50 Shades Book Club meetings since the whole tell-all book thing came about. I think my wedding invitation must have got lost in the mail though? I'm sure it's just an oversight.

Mable, wasn't there a by-law passed about the 50 Shades Book Club and plantains...?

2

u/bottomcat99 Neighborhod Creep 6d ago

People should be free to use them as they wish.

Spoken like a man who buys plantains by the truckload.

I see... Are you operating some sort of underground produce syndicate?

2

u/bottomcat99 Neighborhod Creep 6d ago

I ain’t producing nothin.

u/AvailableAd6071 Mable mcGuire 65 life long resident 6d ago

Cough, cough...Anymore.

1

u/AvailableAd6071 Mable mcGuire 65 life long resident 6d ago

Well, let's just hope the whole jicama thing doesn't make it into this tell-all book being written!

1

u/bottomcat99 Neighborhod Creep 6d ago

Nobody gonna buy that damned book anyway. I mean, who cares?

1

u/AvailableAd6071 Mable mcGuire 65 life long resident 7d ago

Well, I believe that was specifically bananas and cucumbers. I think we can make an exception for plantains.

u/BrigadoonFound Local Artist 7d ago

Ahhh, I see. A by-law loophole being exploited.

Loopholes should be exploited

Well dear, there are no commandments about loopholes, so clearly we can participate.

I think the best cure for weather is sourdough! I’ll even give yall a bad weather discount if you mention it when buying 😋

Awww, that’s so sweet :)

Feel free to bring some to the next silent reading at the bookstore. I’ll pitch in to pay you a little extra if you wouldn’t mind bringing in such a pleasant treat to share.
