Does anyone know why the church in Upper Duck Pond had 24 cases of non-sacramental wine delivered?

I just happened to be plein air painting near the church and saw 24 cases of non-sacramental wine—the expensive kind—being delivered. I'm sure there's a perfectly reasonable explanation. I'm just curious if anyone knows what it is. Halloween party perhaps?

In Odin’s eyes all wine is sacramental wine

I believe Bacchus may dispute Odin's jurisdiction here.

Bacchus is an imaginary figure. Odin is a real guy. I mean, he was in that movie.

I’m not sure. It was the one where all those guys were helping him fight all those other guys who were aliens

He may dispute the jurisdiction but almost certainly agrees with the verdict.

Then perhaps we can avoid litigation.

It was a donation from the synagogue on the west side.

That explains where it came from. Why did they have 24 cases to spare?

Leftover from the Schwartz wedding

Must have been one hell of a wedding. Or very poorly attended.

No, the Schwartz’ decided to have an alcohol free wedding because he recently became sober. It wasn’t a very popular choice as you can imagine, and some guests were secretly drinking in the parking lot, but supporting his sobriety was the couples priority. Which I understand, considering the incidents that happened before that.

Ahhh... That explains it. As my ancestors used to say... Sobriety is a fine thing taken in moderation.

It's nothing to do with that one goose. Definitely not. I am also not the goose in question. Ignore the stray feathers please.

Stray feathers? Or carefully misplaced feathers?

I know nothing. I have all my feathers. I am not a goose.

Attendance is up, and Jesus doesn't argue with souls in seats.

Ecclesiastical marketing at its best.

9 p.m.? Is there a service, or should I just bring a corkscrew?

I mean, it's a church, right? So what would Jesus do? He is literally known for busting out the good wine at parties.... weddings, specifically.
