HBO Team has the upper hand on every streamer. At least Ellison was smart enough not to fuck with them.

HBO Team and WBTV. That's why both Casey Bloys and Channing Dungey are untouchable.

As Deadline revealed over the weekend, Dungey, formerly Chairman and CEO, Warner Bros. Television Group and US Networks, will now also oversee the Paramount cable networks, including flagships MTV, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon and BET, giving her a portfolio of about 30 cable brands in addition of her responsibilities leading the Warner Bros TV studio. She reports to George Cheeks, Co-Chair and Chief Content Officer, Skydance TV, and Perrette, Co-Chair and Chief Business Officer, Skydance TV.

more news:

JB Perrette (Previously CEO and President of Global Streaming and Games for Warner Bros. Discovery) is now Co-Chair & Chief Business Officer, Skydance TV and Co-Chair & Chief Business Officer, Skydance Direct-To-Consumer, oversees global distribution, advertising sales, content sales, DTC strategy, marketing and business operations across Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery’s new owner.

He already named his 3 executives:

David Decker (WBD President, Global Content Sales) has been named President, Content Sales of Skydance. His Paramount counterpart, Kevin MacLellan, is leaving the company.

Jay Askinasi (Paramount) is Chief Revenue Officer, Advertising

Ray Hopkins (Paramount) is President, Distribution.

I hope they dont fire Francesca Orsi, EVP of Programming and Head of HBO Dramas and Films.

“Multi year contract”. Ends in one year.

I believe they’re referring to his existing contract with Warner Bros. Discovery that runs through the end of 2027.

The headline on this post is misleading. His current contract ends at the end of 2027. He signed a new multi-year contract for after that, though they haven’t disclosed how many years the new contract is for, only that it’s “multi-year”.

Makes sense

I imagine this will likely be his last year. He’s been through a lot of regime change over the years and has held pretty steady. I’m curious to see if/how HBO programming decisions and creative tone change over the next year.

The headline of this post is misleading. It implies Bloys signed a new contact only through the end of 2027. That is not what the article says. His current contract with HBO ends at the end of 2027. He re-upped his contract with a new multi-year deal which will go past 2027. The reporting has not said how many years specifically, only that he is choosing to stay on on a new multi-year contract after his current deal expires at the end of next year.
