I know that relationship drama was the center of the show especially in the later seasons but I genuinely enjoyed Blair and Jenny’s rivalry/friendship.

I feel like Jenny and Blair were similar in a lot of ways. Because of that they hated each other but were also fascinated with each other. I think they had some of the best moments in the show

The whole fashion show plot line made it seem like he was into her, but it all died down when Vanessa stole the letter.

It just seemed so random to put them together, only for it to last 2 episodes… And even during those moments, I never got the impression he really liked her. Seemed more like a proximity crush type thing, forced almost.

I feel like Carol unlike Lily never learned to navigate high society and made terrible decisions in her life. The show constantly paints Carol, Lola, Vanessa and other characters that are "always done with that world, the money, blah blah" as morally superior but it just doesn't work.

The fact Carol had to keep her money a secret from her friends says more about her than her family, reminds me of Alabama Barker, always making poor decisions and doing nothing with her privilege, having friends take advantage of her. Idk if her parents didn't support her as an actress but Lily said she could just give the demo to their dad. Although the episode Valley Girls leaves Owen Campos on good terms, Cece hints that he did something terrible she had to take care of, maybe scammed Carol or something.

That's on decision making and picking good friends, other is entitlement, Carol is insufferable and Lily doesn't strike me as someone who denies her privilege. If Lily and Carol had both become celebrities/actresses, Lily would quietly just acknowledge being a nepo baby and Carol wouldn't shut up about making it herself.

Their daughters also reflect this, although Serena is bad in S5 Lola is so much worse at least at the beginning, she's so insecure and somehow holier than thou about being a caterer, not being a UESider, etc that she has to remind Nate every 5 minutes instead of just talking to him like a human being and go with the flow.

I hated Rachel from the get go for some reason but as bad as Blair was, what Rachel did and how she was beefing with a high schooler was pathetic and disgusting!

Rewatching made me so mad that they ruined Yale for Blair and let Rachel just walk out so easily after that!!!
