This free mini magazine was the best available merch in my opinion lol. Has most of the bands in it, some fun facts. Pretty cool for memories.

Passed out in bushes on Saturday night

Yo really hoping the dude who helped us sees this. Me and my buddy had a great time this weekend, but by the end of Saturday night, we were gonee. We literally passed out drunk in the bushes right by the train tracks outside Sloss. Ubers and Lyfts kept canceling on us and we were totally stranded.

Around 3 AM😭we woke up to this literal guardian angel who was a firefighter who drove from Texas for the fest, asking if we needed a ride. He didn't just save our asses and take us back to our hotel, but he even went out of his way to drop another person off at their hotel too. He said he got fucked over by uber and was helping other people out so we probably weren’t the only ones. Thank you brother!! You’re a real one.

Also just wanted to say thanks to everyone for making us feel at home. We met some people and one who I remember saying that these events are the only time they ever get to feel like they can be themselves without judgement and I definitely felt the same during it. This was our first festival ever and the vibe was unreal. We finally got to mosh for the first time too and didn't get too wrecked lol. Everyone was quick to pick us up the second we would fall and he even surfed like 5 times lmao. I’ve been seeing a lot of people sharing bad experiences so I thought i would share this one. FF goes hard, we’ll definitely be back.

Crowd killing normal at FF?

First time at Furnace fest, but I’ve been to a lot of hardcore shows in the past 15 years, intentional crowd killing has always been looked down on. Is this normal Furnace Fest culture/behavior?

Is it safe to talk about how some of the people attending were straight up weird?

I was sitting, and I got sniffed by someone in a full fursuit, I was barked at multiple times, and I saw someone dude getting blown by the portapotties, not that the last one is odd festival behavior, but this was an all ages event.

Parents who brought their kids…

Ear. Protection. I’ve been to a lot of festivals. Have nothing against kids being in these spaces. But if you show up with your kids and don’t ensure they have sunscreen, a water bottle, or ear protection, you don’t deserve your children. The amount of young kids I saw in the shed of all places without ear pro? Legitimately what’s your issue? I saw other fest goers having to be the more responsible humans and offer your kids ear protection.

FF in name only and explanation

I have been to the last three furnace fests and I see people on here saying that you are an elitist if you say that it was better before this year and I don’t think the first timers get it so I’ll try to break it down.

  1. Merch. Under the highway was lined with merch booths in previous years. You could shop vintage band shirts, records, test pressings, cool shops, and bands had their own mech tents. No two shirt rule at a tent that you waited an hour to find out it’s sold out. Theres something about buying an Emery shirt and the the Emery kids practicing their math to give you change. This change to a single tent with just two shirts for every band was crazy. No meeting the bands. No stickers. Nothing
  2. The food. It seemed that there was clear corporate sponsors and most of the usual food was gone. Nothing beats a bad luck burger for $14 as they talk to you about which band you’re excited to see. The food there this year was ok. Over priced but that’s how it goes now.
  3. Disorganized. Peach tree slashed ticket prices from last year and sold 3x as many tickets but had even less staff than the OG festival. I’ve never seen so much trash and lack of staff to handle anything. Getting there an hour and a half early to get let in an hour a half late is wild. What few workers you did see wanted nothing to do with actual work. I feel like the only staff they had were too busy trying to post on the socials of how great it all was.
  4. The vibe. Everyone that is saying the vibes were off were right. The people who made this there first trip just don’t know and that’s ok. This may seem crazy but the first year I went, we were naive. Found out that chairs, hammocks, and blankets were allowed in. Day 2 was a game changer. The area that was fenced off by the trees was everyone’s go to set up camp. Everyone was super friendly. To the point where you could leave your bags at your chair or hammock. People lighting up a joint would ask if you wanted in. Went to pack up at the end of the night and everyone said don’t bother and to leave it. We were cautious but they assured us no one messes with anyone’s stuff. Came back the next day and everyone’s stuff was still there.

It was a festival where musicians not only played but got to watch and hang with their friends. I watched a set standing by Phil from Norma Jean. Watched Many Eyes with the guys from Johnny Booth. Talked to the guys from Still Remains between stages. This was an event where they would get bands back together to play a reunion show because we asked for it.

Don’t get me wrong. Live music is great. Going to see it even when it is run horribly is still fun.

This is now just a corporate run festival and it fells that way. We all have to accept that peach tree bought a name

For reference this is what I wore that day!!!!!

Thought I saw some guy get his teeth cracked straight out of his face and fly through the air during Diamonds when we started a pit right under Oli at the sound booth? Can anyone confirm or deny? Video? Swear I saw teeth fly and watched the dude hold his face and leave the crowd.

Apple AirPods Pro’s found. I have the tracking enabled

Not sure how they ended up in my pocket, but I have them connected to my phone so you can track them to my address. I see the name of them. I know what generation they are. I know what account they are connected to. I think I got them from the shed stage. If you think they’re yours, tell me what the name is and what generation they are and any other details, I will mail them to you. Hope this finds the owner.

Some of the rudest attendees I've encountered ever

I go to a lot of hardcore and metal shows. I'm no stranger to people acting like jerks in the crowd. But this was crazy. People aggressively shoving me out of the way during every set to get to the front (usually 5-10 minutes late for the set), people throwing drinks in the crowd, throwing their trash on the ground for other people to trip over, people blowing cigarette and weed smoke directly in my face (IN THE CROWD! wouldn't be surprised if I had cigarettes ashed on me and didn't realize it), people resting their arm on my shoulder to film a video, the same people crowd-surfing or stage diving over and over and over again... I had fun but there were a lot of genuine douchebags at this festival.

Working furnace fest

Hey guys just wanted to say thank you to everyone who went to furnace fest this year I've worked lots of festivals this season and you guys were by far the nicest and most supportive crowd I've seen from a workers point of view.

I had a great time helping you guys crowd surf and stage dive although some of you guys definitely need to work on technique 😭😭but overall the artist were awesome and you guys were a fun crowd and I hope you guys had as much fun as I did!

Also I was talking to someone who was in the front against the barricade both nights and I found that guitar pick you were looking for I'll bring it next year if you're there.

Love you guys <3 hope to see you all next year.
