Used to just make beats and rap. Started making EDM mid August and here we are now. Still a long ways to go :D

I’ve been trying to get into learning synth programming with vital, and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for tutorials or general resources that could help the learning process.

I've been searching around the web and it seems like no one has had this problem before. First, checking my audio settings shows that +plugins I have a latency of 1k+ latency. Now when I change my mixer latency to match it so when I hear my voice there's no latency, the latency increases. I don't really know how to explain it in words please watch the video. My best guess is that my computer just cannot withstand all the plugins but when I hover each plugin it shows its not adding any latency. I am so confused.

Realistically speaking, how long will it take me to learn FL Studio for techno music, with absolute 0 experience ?

I’ve been doing graphic design for more than 5 years and want to start with techno music, so I am ready to spend a lot of time.

Also, any advice for learning FL will be welcome.

Just in case anyone needs to know. Like if you hit play and your song is in crackhead mode so you spend 10 minutes hitting Undo a bajillion times, removing a bunch of drum programming, or start checking your arp because you might have scroll wheeled rate or something, and then finally realize the corner of your tablet is pressed against the 0 on your number pad.

Heyo, I'm Navy Sands, and I have been on a music journey for quite some time as im sure you all are as well. I'm writing this because the most crucial part of music making is feedback. And that is what we will be discussing. I'm well aware of the feedback days but, they can only go so far, there are genuinely talented people here so here is my idea:

I propose that we become FL Disco Buddies!

What's a disco buddy you ask? A FL Disco Buddy is someone you will have with you for 1 week, on a social platform app of your choice, the point is to be able to connect and gain knowledge from each other.

Now safety is a main concern which is why no one is forced to be buddies with each other and if anyone is behaving inappropriately feel free to report them.

Here are some rules:

1. No Personal Questions,
2. Topic remains on music at all times,
3. No overly harsh criticism,
4. Also being willing to take helpful criticism.

And lastly but not least-ly come back! Ill be making a post in a week to see how everyone progressed and if its successful we could try another.

i have a friend who sent me stems for a song i adore that came out in 2012, but the audio samples are all extremely short and span over 400 files, when importing it like the video tutorials it all just stacks under the other, and plays all at the same time. the "stems" are all cut up at every single take and interval for every instrument, and the package also has .bin and .2dx files. i might be naive, but im about 7 months into FL by now, so i dont know everything there is yet really. the guy who sent me didnt really respond much after, hes see

hi, im a 19yo producer who produce essentially what i called "trap metal", but when i try to promote my music, it doesnt fit in the "trap metal" playlists, which has made me wonder if my sound might actually be closer to dubstep than trap metal, if that makes sense.
sorry if this comes across as a bit of self-promo. I'm genuinely looking for some feedback and insight, and I apologize if this isn't the right place to post this.

If any devs use the subreddit, being able to separate mixer channels visually and without having to manually adjust a mixer track myself would be really useful. <3

after this or similar error signals pop up my daw crashes, it happend also while I was using the flex plug-in and if I try to load a project with third part plug-in, the daw does not play the sound, I dont know what to do.

I’m writing a concept album and I’m limiting myself to only using a 4 note interval as my melody. Granted it transposes up and down but that’s all I’m working with. It’s not easy to get it right.

Anyone challenge themselves with similar asinine restrictions just to test what you can do?

I'm a relative newby, just putting finishing touches to my first few songs but I think I have a problem.

On a couple of my songs, I'm deliberately going for quite abrasive sounds (think Gilla Band/Mandy, Indiana), but one song in particular has some harsh sounds from the Synthi V, which I think is the reason my ears have been ringing for the last few days.

Clearly, what I'm doing is doing some damage so I need to learn fast about limiting sounds outside of safe frequencies before I make myself deaf.

Can anyone recommend any clear, concise guides that I can work through before I do anything else?

I'm finally getting ready to pull the trigger on moving from FL25 to FL26, one thing I'm wondering (and the main reason I've held off) is that my folder structure for samples and the like is within the actual application sub-folders (I'm on mac) and as such will require me moving everything from 25 to 26 to make sure the previous folder assignments still work in old projects. Was wondering if there was a way of installing a new version of FL while preserving/merging the folder structure from the old, or if this is just something to do manually (I did it when moving to 25 from 24, but obviously would love to avoid the hassle of troubleshooting everything.)

Guys I am struggling to learn melody but I always end up with meaningless pointless kind of melody to improve that should I learn piano ?

Despite it having way less guitar presets than Essential Guitars, I found out I really liked using them when amped, especially on Electric Soft and Strat mute

I have been tryna use the other presets but I kinda didn't like them, i got a plugin called ToneLib-GFX and tried using them on the guitars, and I was able to make them sound actually decent enough :D

i actually sorta ditched a lot of other Guitar plugins I had downloaded for this pack (might delete them to save storage idk)
