There's a libertarian who recently tried to take up the pinned "straight forward questions" challenge.
He argued that property rights are supposed to be self- evident the same way self- ownership is self- evident. I pointed out that self- ownership is self evident because it literally can't be transferred or dispute. Even if you tried to sell yourself to another person, it wouldn't qualify as SELF- ownership because the self can't be transferred. OTOH, land disputes happen all the time because the indicators of ownership can be forged, especially in the absence of a state entity to oversee registration. A private registration system doesn't work because that can be forged.
He responded by saying self- ownership didn't he to be self- evident after all because slave owners disputed it and therefore the comparison to land ownership still apply. Which means that in order to justify lands ownership under the NAP, he also had to justify slavery.
I asked him straight up if the NAP means I can enslave people without consent, and he completely ignored the question and never answered.
many libertarians unironically believe one should be able to sell themselves into slavery or take slaves. They imagine themselves to be the rich guys with an army of debt slaves
I've never seen any of those guys capable of debating or reasoning their way out of a paper bag. It's just a bunch of claptrap meant to capture young dimwits and coax them into voting GOP.
