UNIVERSITY Confusion with loop currents to find Norton Equivalent.

The terminals a and B were originally opened btw. They closed it to find Norton current. My only problem is the current in the second loop: why is it isc-2vx in one place but isc+0.003 in the other question even though both questions are identical? Both methods matched their respective answers. Any help will be appreciated! I have basically found all the other things like Norton resistance in these questions but this loop current is the only thing keeping me stuck.

What do you mean the "questions are identical"? The two circuits are quite different. The first one has a 3 mA current source (that's were the 0.003 comes from) and the second has a 2Vx dependent current source in it (that's where the 2Vx comes from).

It looks like different problems. You have #2 and #3

It also seems like #2 has an independent current source while #3 has a dependent current source.

It's likely a typo.
