I’ve seen a lot of posts about this lately here, and I understand the want to make sure you aren’t stepping on toes when joining a community.
But the answer is always yes! You don’t need to be a certain gender or identify a certain way to do drag. It’s a form of art, it’s expression, it’s beautiful.
I’m a cis-het woman who has been doing drag professionally for 3 years. My identity has never been a point of discussion or contention both in bookings or at shows. If you’re fabulous, you’re fabulous, and that’s all that matters.
Please, never feel like you can’t do something because of your identity. That’s the complete opposite of what drag stands for. Drag is for everyone, it’s inclusive, and it’s exactly what you want it to be.
So wing out that liner, glue down that lace and go take the world by storm. God knows we need more beautiful resistance in this world right now.

Mods please delete if this is not allowed. I (18nb) live with my parents. I was messing around with makeup and playing dress-up today, and I was still dressed up when they came home.
My mom responded to the makeup with "please tell me you didn't go out like that." Both her and my dad are very transphobic and anti-drag, so to be petty, I set the first pic as my Facebook profile picture.
I'm very proud of myself for standing up, even if it's only a small thing. Also I'm very proud of my Rocky Horror Picture Show inspired makeup and wanted to show it off.

so I really wanna get into drag, but I wanna be a masked performer. I know thats a really niche thing to do but I really really want to, my mask can lip sync btw. I also seem a lot more punk and edgy than most other drag performers ive seen, any advice on the way I could incorporate this style into drag?? I have pictures and a video of my style and stuff (im the one in the mask) Im also open to general advice on being a performer even if its not specifically about masked drag. Please help, im really anxious since I have stage fright and idk how to do choreography or where to start with drag, I don’t know what to ask or how to talk to drag queens. They’re all so much cooler than me and older (im a teenager) like what if they hate me or judge me??? Ik they’re the nicest people ever but they’re still so much cooler and better than me. Idk im probably just overly anxious, this is kinda stupid anyway. But yeah, uhh advice please?? (oh btw I know the hoodie I made looks kinda ass but im going for an industrial punk style, is there room for that kind of style in drag? Im vastly new)

Hello! So I’m kinda new to the whole drag world and I’ve always had this question floating in my mind, what is the experience of being trans and also doing drag? How do you separate it? Does it not give you dysmorphia? What are the more recent parameters of being a drag queen and a drag king?
I know this may sound ignorant but I don’t want to be, I want to learn and I want to know. I’m nonbinary and don’t do drag but I watch people like Bob the drag queen, Juno birch, Trixie and Katya, and Monet X Change and I wanted to know what the drag world is like outside of the super famous drag queen lens.
When I started watching drag, I had the concept that a drag queen is a man dressed like a woman and a drag king is the opposite. While I have nothing against trans people doing drag, in fact I absolutely love it because yall are so creative, but I am curious how being/playing the opposite gender feels after you’ve transitioned from that gender. Like how does it feel being a trans man and being a drag queen?
If I was in the position I feel id be super dysphoric because I’d still be dressing up as a woman while actively trying to not be one. That is just my perspective and I want to change that by learning how people who do drag and are trans feel.
Thank you in advance for answering my questions and also if you are comfortable with sharing photos of your drag I’d love it! I love seeing the different types of drag makeup people do! ❤️❤️❤️

So basically my good friend has recently picked up drag and they LOVE IT. I asked them what their wanted for their birthday (which is quickly approaching) and they said "anything you think would be fun in my drag! like makeup, glitter, accessories."
The problem is I am not personally a drag queen and, while I definitely love to watch drag shows, know basically nothing about what goes into it or what would be "fun" in someone's drag. I know they're a very pop-centered drag queen, I know they like to strip on stage, and I know they like to wear glittery stuff, but that's about where my knowledge of the ins-and-outs ends.
I was just wondering, if there are any drag queens reading this who are willing to help my sorry ass out, what would you have liked to recieve as a baby queen? What kind of glitter is good for drag, what accessories are fun to use/common, any makeup pallets that are fun and common in the community?
Any help or ANY direction at all would be appreciated please 😭

Here is my 2nd drag performance ever. 10/10/26 at the Das Haus (Lincoln NE USA) open mic night. I've got a long way to go but there was improvement from my first performance in September. Let me know what you think. xox

First post here, long-time admirer of all you Kings and Queens! I (38F, with only very basic light makeup skills) am looking to support my 14 y/o daughter (she/they, queer and questioning EVERYTHING) in trying out her first drag King look. She has a full character ready with lore and an outfit; she's looking to be on the natural side, just looking a lot more masculine than her typical look. She already has a super-short pixie cut, so the hair will be easy, but I'm absolutely lost when it comes to contouring, and I really want to help her feel joyful and confident in this look. We are also planning to try doing some partner looks where we're both Kings together.
I'd love any buying guides and tutorials that others have found helpful, and while I'd love to say that money is no object, I do have 3 other kids, so I would like to stick with a few high-quality basics that we'll be able to experiment with if possible. We both have pretty fair skin, so we should be able to use similar products.
With her permission, I'll post a photo update in the future. Thanks for your help!

So i covered up my eyebrows with the purple elmers gluestick and set with the airspun loose powder. then i applied the white la girl concealer and moisturized my face, then used the tv paint stick in white, then used some setting powder again. my real eyebrows were still kind of shining through but thats not my main issue: the brows are WAY too tacky (i think from the glue??) and its kinda not possible to apply my drawn on eyebrows. i used a eye pencil and a brow pencil AND black eyeshadow, but it looks really smudged and not very sharp. what am i doing wrong? is it the products? what do you guys use to draw on eyebrows??
Go easy on me divas… I’m new to this! AHS Hotel inspired messy bun for my drag sister! I didnt realize I was dealing with a party city ass wig so I ended up having to glue a new hairline with no experience on how to do that… Proud of myself for getting this done in 24 hours! Before/after & inspiration at the end :)
