DAE - feel like they're shadow banned irl?

It's hard to explain, but I just can't help but feel like this. I have a handful of close friends but only a couple of them initiate contact with me. And there's been quite a few things that have happened in my life that just don't happen to others.

DAE randomly remember something embarrassing from years ago and physically cringe?

I was just thinking about how awkward it would be to wave back at someone, only to realize they were waving at the person behind me.

The worst part isn't even the embarrassment. It's imagining your brain randomly bringing it up five years later while you're trying to sleep.

Does anyone else have random embarrassing moments that their brain just refuses to delete?

DAE use 2-3 designated fingers to eat finger foods for extra cleanliness?

• Upvotes

I use 1st finger, middle and sometimes my ring ringer so I have the rest of my fingers clean and free to use if I need them. This reduces the amount of times I have to wipe my hands, which in turn turns into few castaway crumbs.

DAE find old (40s-80s) movies and shows much easier to watch than recent ones?

I’m not a classic film/tv person, but i rewatched the wizard of oz recently, and started randomly watching mash and dynasty because the none of the new shows piqued my interest. I fully expected my short-attention span, instagram reel fried, gen z brain to get bored and abandon both, but I honestly couldn’t look away. I know i shouldnt be patting myself on the back too much bc one is a children’s movie and the other is a soap opera, but still im impressed, even modern “trash” TV and movies can’t keep my attention anymore. What’s the deal?

My theory is it has something to do with the way theyre shot (it seems like more wide shots, fewer hard-to-follow close-ups), the set design (it’s well lit in actual locations, not pitch black and 90% green screen), and the audio (i can actually hear the dialogue clearly)

Idk im not a filmmaking cinematography person, so maybe it’s all in my head, but I wonder if i’m the only one who has experienced this

DAE know why some people approach you with situations that make you feel utterly helpless

A distant family member of mine has made it their life's mission to constantly question me about my Sibling's life choices like employment and future plans, for some reason they are even trying to convince to act like a second parent to my sibling

The most annoying part is that I'm the youngest of three in the house, I have two older siblings the one in question is the middle child, which makes me really the last person to say this to.

This would have been okay and a sign of familial concern if it was a one time occurrence but they do this way too often to the point i started to resent my sibling for it. Overall I feel so confused why don't they just call my sibling instead of doing this weird three way thing.

The last time the did this was a couple days back and it almost brought me to tears because of how helpless and anxious I felt.

I don't know how to approach this and is their a reason why people do this

DAE look up a movies plot and ending before watching it, just to see if it's worth watching?

I know it sounds crazy that I'm basically spoiling the movie before watching it, but I do NOT like sitting through a whole movie and realizing it had plot events that I wouldn't have enjoyed, or getting upset about how it ends, or who survives and doesn't survive. That's why I look up the endings and who survives or not. And besides, I still enjoy the movie. For me it's the whole plot and events in between, plus the visuals, that make me enjoy the movie. I just don't think spoilers are a big deal at all.

Does anybody else drink coffee creamer as a snack?

I catch my wife sometimes taking a swig out of our coffee creamer as a quick snack and she acts like it's not a big deal. To me that seems odd? Maybe a little gross? Idk. Does anybody else do that?

Like, just straight up drink out of the creamer carton on the regular.

DAE open a new browser tab for one quick thing and somehow end up with five unfinished tasks?

I’ll open one tab to check something, notice another task, and suddenly I have several half-finished trails open. At that point the tabs feel more like a second to-do list than a browser.

Does anybody else uncontrollably mouth their thoughts or internal monologue?

This has happened to me ever since I went into psychosis 2 years ago, it's very distracting and I find it difficult to function. Does anybody have a similar experience ?

Are you guys find yourself doing this, or do you always just tell the truth and wrap up the call.

DAE feel bad for male birds when their fancy feathers and dances are ignored?

I know that the female birds don’t owe the males anything and they probably have several different male suitors to choose from, so I do get it. And yet, when I see a male bird with his fancy tail opened out and his crest fluffed up, once proud, now just dancing away in desperation, whilst the female just completely ignores him, I feel so sorry for him. They look so sad and forlorn when they have to flatten their crest back down and fold away their tail, having been publicly rejected. And the female birds don’t even leave, they just keep pecking around on the ground, whilst the males make absolute tits of themselves (pardon the bird pun). It’s especially bad in peacocks, seeing as they make SUCH a spectacle of themselves, only to have to slink away by himself at the end. They should organise bird discos, so they are all dancing and prancing, and not just Harold, who always has to shoot his shot, but is starting to lose hope after his 8th year of preening himself at the end of the night.

My wife says I’m weird, but I feel like I can’t possibly be the only one out there who wants to tell male birds that there are plenty more birds in the trees and actually their tail feathers are rather impressive.

DAE get "dream hangovers"?

Sometimes, when I have a dream that is in some way especially disturbing, visceral, or otherwise mind affecting, I will be vaguely out of sorts in a particular way for the next 20 minutes to hour. It's like my body is still reacting to the dream.

DAE whisper to themselves sometimes when doing things?

Idk if it’s just me, cause I live alone and sometimes I announce my tasks while I’m doing them. But lately I realize I do it a lot in public. I’ve never really paid attention to how people in public perceived me.

But today I was at Home Depot and looking around at something I needed and just dictating my thoughts out loud.

Like, “oh, that’s not right.” And, “Oh, no, that’s over here.”

That was when I realized it might be kind of weird, especially cause I was really wired on a project and going all over the place.

But I do it whispers, almost. Does anyone else do that?
