I'd be more concerned if this pulls the "classic" Netflix scenario where it's cancelled after Season 1 or 2. And left on cliffhangers.

I think it is interesting you attribute this to Netflix when Disney+ does it super frequently most notably with new stories (National Treasure, Willow, Mysterious Benedict, Renegade Nell, Diary of a Future President, Mighty Ducks Game Changers, Big Shot, Turner and Hooch, Doogie Kameāloha, Muppets Mayhem, American Born Chinese, Goosebumps, Wonder Man). The longest running show is High School The Musical The Show; nothing else has cracked 4 seasons.

You're right. Netflix does have this problem, but it would be nice if Disney+ sought to grow audiences rather than expect them considering they own ABC, Hulu, ESPN, Disney Channel, etc for advertising.

I wasn't aware that D+ had a cancellation issue as well. But trying to reboot the X-Files, is just absolute bonkers to me. It's the X-Files after all! There is so much hype around the OG Show alone, and expectations would probably be beyond comparable to the OG show.

High School Musical: the show is still running? I tapped out midway through the 2nd season and I assumed it ended after that. There’s a limit to how far some premises stretch.

I just don't see how a show like that fits into todays absurd world. It was so very much a product of its time and society. They should probably abandon Chris Carter's never ending mythology type of stuff for the most part. It's hard to take todays FBI seriously in any way.

Look, he has made a career showing the plight of his people. Hell, I’ve enjoyed a lot of it and seen all of it.

But there is a time and place for things.

The X-Files isn’t the platform for that.

Look I don’t disagree and I wasn’t saying he should ruin the franchise of the xfiles I’m just saying that there is a lot of garbage made and I won’t watch it. They made a war of the worlds recently, I refused to watch it. It’s not a moronic take in just saying don’t watch it if you don’t want to be preached to.

This is clearly destined to flop but I'll give it a fair chance. I think this guy would be better off doing Twilight Zone esque shows. I don't think he can handle long form stories.
