I got a feeling they might use the opportunity to raise the price. If it can differentiate from 4.1 flash, it will probably on price point.

Edit: obviously I prefer they stop jacking up the price but it’s not really in our control is it.

Providers can easily serve the model at the old API prices IIUC, V4.1 is more efficient than V4 and V4's serving price was like reproducible.

Not the cache rates, which is where most of the cost goes for a lot of agent work. They did a lot of work with the kernel on paging and overall, a provider with multiple models is generally not going to be investing the time and money in the efficiencies that caused in order of magnitude cheaper caching. People seem to miss this entirely, but it’s pretty big.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they scrapped V4.1 Pro. V4 Pro in Preview and GA just wasn’t THAT much better than V4 Flash considering how much larger the model was. Probably not worth it in their eyes.

The Pro would definitely have its purpose, considering how much they nerfed Flash in terms of world knowledge. Pro would be something similar to GLM 5.3 I guess.
