Question Collectible street stores in Bali

Post image

I’m walking around Bali at the moment and seeing several street stores selling presumably bootleg Dragon Ball figurines/statues. Some of them actually look pretty nice and I’m tempted to see how low I can get the price.

Does anyone have recent experience with these to comment on the quality? Should I just not bother?

Will they let you handle them? If you can, take a close look at them. If they pass your eye test and you like them then buy what you like. If you get a closer look and things look like its poor quality then dont bother. Its your money and your decision.

Okay they feel pretty solid, just with some shoddy painting in many cases

I don't know about the rest but the DBZ shelf has a lot of bootleg.

I never doubted that, all depends on price

Well yeah, it's Bali. Pretty much everything is bootleg. The big decider here is price and quality.

Looking at the various figures I recognize them as copies of authentic figures or copies of unlicensed statues. I have a few myself, a little touch up on the paint and it can do wonders.

Yes I’ve just been taking a closer look - they feel quite solid, though as you say many of them have painting defects that are probably fixable. I’m intrigued though also overwhelmed by choice. Master Roshi seems cool
