Are crypto wallets really private/anon?

While researching crypto wallets and which one to use, I found out that most Defi wallets don't clean up meta data like IP, date, etc. I always thought that they where fairly anon, but apparently not. Is there an alternative that doesn't leak metadata?

if you want your crypto wallet to be 100% anonymous, simply never transfer anything into or out of it.

Exactly. The wallets are anonymous, the on-ramps and the off-ramps are not.

All crypto is a scam.

Nothing is really private.

You don't own anything.

It's all an abstraction.

Not really even if a wallet doesn't ask for personal info your transactions are still visible on the blockchain and can be traced back to you. There's also the IP and metadata side of things that most people don't think about. I think a lot of wallets focus more on security than privacy, and those are two pretty different things.
