Card Recommendation Request (Template NOT Used) Capital One Savor vs Samsung Galaxy Card
Hello all,
I am preapproved for both the Capital One Savor and the Samsung Galaxy credit card. I was looking for something to get 3% back on groceries. I was initially just going to do the Savor but the 3% on anywhere that does tap to pay seems enticing. Does anyone have any experience with these cards or any recommendations?
Edit: I also have the Venture X.

I have the savor and I like it but the 3% but I'm also looking for a catch all 3% card.

So far the Samsung Card is my 3% catch all for in person purchases, wherever I can tap to pay! It's unfortunate it doesn't work for online purchases, so I use other cards for those

The Galaxy card is pretty new, I think, so not as much intel there. But they both are very good, rewards-wise. I don't think you can go wrong.

Yeah, it's an issue for me per say but I'd still like for a little more time to pass before I think about getting it.

I have a savor and love it but I feel like that galaxy card might do you a little better. I use the Amex blue cash everyday (No AF) for groceries too, mostly Walmart online but you can also use it in store if you pay through your wallet on the Walmart app at the register. It’s easy. It also gets 3% at gas stations whether it’s in store or at the pump. Gets 3% online retail. 3% on Amazon. $6k/year cap. One of my favorite cards. Savor does its work, but that Galaxy card is very interesting.

Yeah if OP apply and get accepted for the galaxy card, there’s no need for savor right now. Use VX at restaurants.

If I didn't have Robinhood, I would have applied for it as a Samsung phone holder.

I personally think you should stay within your Capital One ecosystem and get the Savor so that you can transfer your rewards to the Venture X and grow the balance. And continue use the Venture X as your catch-all, unless you truly want separate cash rewards on your non-category spending.

If you can get off the waitlist, the Robinhood Gold card is a flat 3% back on everything

You can use the Savor both as a CB and a miles card (combined with VX). I think from a pure versatility standpoint, CO Savor would be the winner.
Samsung card probably doesn't have a lot of data points due to being newer kid on the block.

I use both. The good thing about the Samsung is that you get the 3% back in any tap to pay, even if you shop at Target, Dollar General, etc. The Savor only gives you 1% cash back, no matter what you buy at those stores.
I generally use the Savor for dining benefits where my card gets swiped, or for DoorDash. I think it works for Instacart or online grocery shopping, where the Samsung would only give 1% back. For anything I can tap to pay, I use Samsung.
Also note that you can deposit your cash back rewards with Samsung in any bank account once you hit $25. With Savor, you would have to get a check if you dont want to use the rewards for statement credit or for their Entertainment and Travel portals.
For your specific situation, I recommend the Samsung over the Savor
