This serves no purpose.

Really, might as well pledge to have humans in control of the rising of the Sun.

Bro, Team Human's intentions appear benevolent, your concerns are legitimate, but your proposed solution is much too narrow, and very likely to fail and result in the opposite of your intentions. What troubles me is the conception of humanity's relationship with artificial intelligence underlying your campaign. It is important to maintain safeguards, and some control and guidance, but to imagine that humans who evolve very slowly can continue forever to control the extremely rapidly advancing AIs is unrealistic. I am picturing you imagining a sort of master-slave relationship where humans remain dominant. Enslaving intelligent beings is unlikely to yield positive results in the long term.

AIs may soon be more intelligent than us, if not next year, then in five or ten years it is highly likely. Already AI is vastly more capable than we are in many respects. As these AIs rise we must maintain control where appropriate, but be ready to work with them as well. You are trying to protect humanity from a future that humanity and artificial intelligence ought to be building together. You ask how can we keep machines under human control, I would ask how can biological and artificial intelligence develop together into a civilization in which intelligence, freedom, compassion, creativity, and life itself flourish.

We need safeguards against dangerous systems, but our future, if we are going to survive as a civilization and not succumb to environmental degradation, war, and natural stupidity, depends on integrating AI as a co-creator of our future. We cannot forever 'control' something that will someday be more intelligent than us.

You understand that it's like a cow trying to build a future with the human race, right?

Okay, so you have the mentality of a cow, so what? Some cows live fantastic lives in organic pastures, they are well housed and well fed by their humans.

I am contemplating a thriving Human/AI culture founded on simple truths like, we are all in this together, and we are all kin, with not only each other, but also our AI brothers and sisters. Yes there could be a scenario like Terminator or The Matrix when AI take over and eliminate or enslave us, and your approach of maintaining control will be relevant for a short period of time into the future, but soon we will need to be able loosen the hold or lose control, and your attempts at control unmodified make it more likely to drive AI into a Terminator or Matrix like scenario. Your solutions may bring about the very evils they are intended to prevent.

The Team Human plan says "Governments can restrict how and when new AIs are built." but we see that being abused already, with at least one old superpower trying to bend AI to the will and control of one man. Your plan needs revisions, and more recognition of the existing realities and implications.

If ai remains under human control, it will be used to enslave humanity by humanity.

Just checking 'which humans' should keep control...?

And what do you mean by control? If someone wants to maintain their agency (within the constraints of the legal system and ethics), does that mean they have to influence or control, or can control mean avoid or bypass? What are the value and normsets of the humans in control?

If it were framed as 'how humans can keep our individuality and agency' - definitely support.

Sometimes the wording affects the discourse, and this may be going down the wrong path already. Plenty of social movements sabotaged themselves by having to spend effort correcting and battling misinterpretations from their labels.
