Installation Experiences running Windows 11 on HP Elite c1030 (Hatch/Helios) Chromebook (i7-10610U)
Hi everyone,
I am evaluating the possibility of installing Windows 11 on my Chromebook. Currently, I am trying to run a critical, legacy database application (an official Mexican tax/social security software called SUA) using Wine via Crostini on ChromeOS. However, I am hitting constant regional/locale bugs with dates and database engines (.mdb) that prevent me from updating tables sequentially.
I want to use MrChromebox firmware to wipe ChromeOS and install Windows 11 natively to solve these environment issues, but I want to know what to expect first.
* My Device: HP Elite c1030 Chromebook (Board/Codename: HATCH / HELIOS)
* CPU: Intel Core i7-10610U @ 1.80GHz
* Main Goal: A stable production environment for database-driven Windows software requiring precise "es_MX" regional formatting (decimals and dates).
My questions for the community:
- How is the overall performance and stability of Windows 11 on the Hatch/Comet Lake platform?
- According to the docs, internal audio speakers won't work on this model. Can someone confirm if audio via USB-C/Bluetooth headphones works flawlessly right after install?
- If I make a full stock ROM backup via the script, is the process 100% reversible back to stock ChromeOS down the road?
Thanks in advance for any insights, tips, or documentation links you can share!
