That's a good prayer! I'll gladly join you in praying that you'll keep your eyes fixed on Jesus. (Matthew 18:19-20)

My experience has been that the reward for praying against temptation is just over the horizon, like, it's always darkest just before the dawn. (Proverbs 2:4-5) Resisting temptation is like working out; no pain, no gain. Once you're through it, you have a new skill you can take with you for the rest of your life.

My go-to scripture is 1Corinthians 10:13 "No temptation has come to you that is different than those others face. But God is faithful. He will not let you be tempted more than you can bear. With the temptation, He will provide the way of escape also, so you can endure it."

I just try to remember to pray, "Lord, Your Word says there is a way out of this and I don't see it. Show me the way!"

It also greatly helps to pray for the Holy Spirit to unite with your conscience, so you can see temptation coming before it strikes.
