The quality of life under Capitalism has always been higher than socialism or communism. Reduced suffering is the goal

The greatest and fastest increases in quality of life in the last 100 years were communist Russia, communist China and communist Vietnam.

They are partially right. The problem is severalfold.

What is "quality of life". Industrialization? Then it's a yes. Civil rights and democracy, then it's a flat no.

One is that when you start with nothing and then have something, the increase is incredible.

The other is the trade-offs involved in the "means" they used to achieve their goals. I've read more and seen more data on Russia and China. Their trade-offs were serious famines and extreme authoritarianism. Look at the Soviet Union here compared to fascist Germany and Nazi Germany regarding democracy and human rights - practically the worst countries ever in history.

Lastly, if you use the same arguments and data "communists" or "socialists" use to prop up the arguments like above, you can use the same metrics to support Nazi Germany as superior with their economic success too. So..., what are they actually trying to prove?

Capitalism has lifted more people out of poverty (the masses) than any other system in human history. And countries that liberalised their economies (even slightly) in recent decades, especially Asian, have reaffirmed this fact about the system. If you really want to "suffer", then try the poverty-creating, authoritarian, illiberal alternatives.
