Opinions on the Apprentice?
To me it's one of the most pretty games on CD-I but it's incredibly hard. A more fair difficulty option would be nice as the gameplay is basic, but fun. It shows how good platformers could be on CD-I.

I'm new around this subreddit and CDI things and was looking for a way to play this game. What is the easiest/best way?

Still remember the cheatcode out of my head. Played it a lot back in the days. Funny thing is that i played it yesterday on the steamdeck for a while. But ended up playing dimos quest from level 1 till 14. Apprentice and lucky luke are both the same style.

Never played it myself. But what you could even tell by only looking at the Screenshot: nice and colorful graphics. Weak level design.

It's hard af, but probably the best CD-i game ever made. Honestly if most games had met this quality CD-i may have survived slightly longer than it did.

While the PC ports of Faces of Evil and Wand of Gamelon are fun and silly, this game is the most deserving of a port on the entire system

"the apprentice" uno de los mejores juegos rescatables del "Phillips Cdi" por su hermoso arte, y buena jugabilidad. eso sí contar su pinches polémicos fatalitys

Imo a fantastic game. I play it multiple times a year and one of the prettiest 16 bit games ever. The same studio made a sequel game on cdi about lucky luke. Much better graphics even!! But bad framerate
It is difficult, but doable.
It was made by a dutch team that would later (partly) form guerrilla studios
