Both games won GotY their respective launch years, and are two of the most successful across multiple different Nintendo platforms. They're cash cows that Nintendo just keeps porting to their new consoles.
Yet the only game I hear people recommend that's similar to these two is Immortals Fenix Rising. Similar cell-shaded visual style, explorable and interactable open world, different but similar feeling combat systems, interesting story set in Greek Mythology, etc.
Why haven't other studios taken this model and copied it in different settings, adding their own new creative touches to it? The open nature of it makes it a canvas for continued creativity and innovation in exploration, world interactivity, combat systems, etc.
Odd that there's just one studio that did this, but that one is proof that other studios can do it too now that model is proven. Or am I missing some others?

Wish I had known fireproof means FIREPROOF. lol. Could have made some shrines a little easier π at least I realized it now, after all 120 base game shrines, and two more DLC shrines to go π

Iβve started BOTW about 15 days ago. Needless to say, I got hooked right away. After 60 hours, I feel that I have only completed 20-25% of the game.
It is such a massive map and there are so many things to find that I think Iβll take at least until the end of the year to get most of it done.
So, when do you all think I should get the expansion?
And, does it update my saved game right away or will I have to start a new campaign?
Thank you all!

So each one you fight has more strength but is that when you unlock it or when you defeat it?
Iβm on my second play through- on master mode.
I got to the divine beasts but didnβt have enough beats etc to fight so when I got to each ganon I left.
So now I can just warp over and fight each one but wondering if I can fight thunder blight first and itβs weaker and then go to the others?

Hi guys Iβm new to playing Zelda and BOTW is my first ever Zelda game. Iβve been playing this game non-stop for a week now and I have completed the 4 Divine Beasts alr (with the mistake of not researching and going in for Thunderblight as my first lol I had to leave and be stronger to face him). I also am done with getting the Master sword, I alr have 15 hearts and 2 1/4 stamina circle.
Now I am thinking of buying that ancient armor to prepare for my Hyrule Castle entry (to finally defeat Ganon). Is it really necessary or should I just get in? What are the other tips you guys can give me lmfao tbh I am just bad at parrying those Guardians and just really really scared to go in the Hyrule Castle. And yes I also did not research that well because the thing is I enjoy being surprised.
(And am I the only one whoβs actually scared of the game I dont wanna overreact but lowkey Iβm scared)
Iβve been thinking back to this channel I used to watch years ago. They were doing a botw challenge, (I canβt for the life of me remember what they were doing) but their style of video was very particular. It was just gameplay, with text onscreen explaining their thought process. I found it very interesting and calming, as well as funny! Thereβs hardly any channels like that. I stopped watching because I hadnβt beaten the game at the time, and unsubscribed around when totk came out to avoid spoilers. Does anyone know who Iβm talking about? Iβd love to rewatch their videos.

This is by Hia Miu shrine. I have beat the stone tales at night searching all the rock walls. I can't seem to find the shrine the scanner says is here. It's driving me crazy. Any suggestions on where to look? I must just not be seeing it

So I'm not sure if anyone has had the same experience, but I'm replaying botw and I skipped the guardian cut scene on the plateau. I've since been running around the world and have come across 2 different inactive guardian stalkers. I've walked close and even took photos to make sure they weren't decayed.
I'm wondering if it's cause I didn't go through the first intro cut scene of them.β Anyone else experience this?

My girlfriend has never played a Zelda game before. We play a lot of Mario Kart on switch together, and she decided to get BOTW because she heard it was a good game. I've played it before, but it was a few years ago and I don't remember most of the smaller details like shrine puzzles, boss fights etc.
It was really fun watching her play at the start, like I could enjoy the game again through her. But since she'd never played a Zelda before, or really any similar adventure games (she loves Resident Evil but that's about it), I would find it hard not to give unsolicited advice. I watch sometimes, and give advice if asked, but she usually plays on her own at her own pace.
Recently she got back into it and made a lot of progress. We were out and she was telling me about it, describing the area she was in. She said she'd done the first divine beast, but was having trouble with the second one. I did think she was making pretty fast progress, because I remember doing as many sidequests as possible between divine beasts, but everyone plays differently so I decided not to interfere. From what I understood, she was stuck on the second divine beast boss fight.
I was round yesterday and I picked up her switch to look at how she was doing.
Most recent save: Hyrule Castle. Right outside the Calamity Ganon arena. With 6 hearts and 1 extra stamina vessel.
She had finished the first divine beast in the Zora town, then followed the light straight to Hyrule Castle thinking that was the next step. And while she didn't manage to beat Ganon she did get pretty close. She didn't realise this was in fact the end of the game.
Anyway we had a good laugh and I gave her some pointers for what to maybe do instead. On the plus side she's gone through Hyrule Castle so has some ludicrously good gear now. And she's happy she doesn't have to do the boss fight that "has no right being this hard so early in the game".

Has anyone not beat the game? Got it in 2022 got a lot of process in a month and then stopped it for three years for no reason. In summer of this year I finally decided to try the game again and I have gotten way too much process in it since. I have played a few times in a week.

After buy the switch for my kids Iβve played BOTW for 4 months twice a week.
Already faced Ganon, with just 12% of the map concluded π
Just got into the wrong door π
Finally finished the Championsβ Ballad (hard as f#ck for me) bust the reward looks nice!!
Next move gonna be the trial of sword! Letβs get it!

Hmm... I wonder what this shrine is. Major test of strength? Eh, shouldn't be too hard....What is that? Some kind of mini guardian? He looks weak. Should be a piece of cake. Let's see how strong he is...hits with sword 3 times oh, he's pretty tanky... how much damage does he even d- gets hit with sword and dies in a single hit .....Fuck.

I remember having great difficulty the first time I played thunderblight, but got it done eventually. when i realised i'd have to go through all that again but with much less gear, i was very pissed. And then i easily beat him first try. How did y'all go with this version? was it easier?
