I was actually thinking of a way to incorporate every TPS Vault Hunter into the story of BL2 (and having them all working together by the time of the Bunker raid) a bit ago. Here's what I came up with.
•Athena: Either have her start as a Crimson Raider, or have her as a survivor of the train crash at the beginning
•Wilhelm: Have Athena cripple him instead of killing him due to knowing how valuable he could be in terms of firepower/intel, and due to noticing something wrong with him; he'd have to take some time off to recover, before swearing vengeance on Jack for poisoning him
•Nisha: No ideas yet; not only does she not have a reason to betray Jack, but Brick would not like working with the person who killed Dusty
•Claptrap: Change the Claptrap upgrade to make it re-enable the Fragtrap protocols, then have Scooter make him an extra stair-climbing wheel
•"Jack": Have him be the body-double the cast runs into, with him joining due to a disillusionment with Jack
•Aurelia: Have Claptrap
forceconvince Hammerlocke to call his sister over for a good old rousing round of killing Jack, (and to have the gang all here) with her accepting on the grounds of "fuck it, I don't have anything better to do"

And here I am, already 20+ hours into my Doppelganger playthrough. Man, I really couldn't have picked a better time to get back into BL2

Wilhelm bieng playable is gonna be neat, i never got around to actually finishing leveling him because.... well TPS leveling is kinda buns so.
